India's automobile industry recorded its highest-ever August volumes across passenger vehicles, two-wheelers and three-wheelers in 2026. PV sales surged 36.5% to 4.39 lakh units, while two-wheelers crossed 20 lakh units.

India’s three-wheeler market grew 8.6% year-on-year in August 2026 to 1,22,281 units. Bajaj Auto remained the market leader, while Mahindra, TVS, Piaggio and Atul Auto recorded strong growth.
