ADAS SUVs Under ₹25 Lakh In India: From XUV 3XO And Creta To Seltos, Curvv And Victoris

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, or ADAS, were once restricted largely to luxury cars in India. That has changed rapidly. In 2026, buyers shopping below ₹25 lakh can choose from a surprisingly wide range of SUVs offering features such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance and forward-collision warning.

The list now stretches from sub-4-metre SUVs such as the Mahindra XUV 3XO to mid-size SUVs including the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, along with electric SUVs and larger three-row offerings.

However, buyers need to look beyond the simple “ADAS-equipped” label. The number of functions, sensor hardware and level of automation vary considerably between models and variants.

What Is Level 2 ADAS?

Level 2 ADAS can simultaneously assist with functions such as steering and acceleration/braking, although responsibility remains completely with the driver.

Typical Level 2 functions include:

Mahindra XUV 3XO

The Mahindra XUV 3XO is one of the strongest examples of ADAS technology moving into the affordable compact-SUV segment.

Mahindra equips higher XUV 3XO variants with a radar-and-camera-based Level 2 ADAS package offering 10 driver-assistance features.

Major functions include:

• Adaptive Cruise Control

• Forward Collision Warning

• Autonomous Emergency Braking

• Lane Departure Warning

• Lane Keep Assist

• Traffic Sign Recognition

ADAS is offered on the higher AX5 L and AX7 L variants. Mahindra's current online configurator lists the AX5 L TGDi petrol Luxury Pack at around ₹11.90 lakh ex-showroom, making the XUV 3XO among the most accessible SUVs in India with a proper Level 2 system.

Interestingly, the recently introduced XUV 3XO EV also receives Level 2 ADAS including Adaptive Cruise Control, Smart Pilot Assist and Auto Emergency Braking. The electric version was launched from ₹13.89 lakh.

Mahindra Thar Roxx

Mahindra has also brought Level 2 ADAS to the Thar Roxx, significantly increasing the technology content of its lifestyle off-roader.

The package complements a broader safety suite along with features including a 360-degree camera and blind-view monitoring.

Mahindra officially introduced the Thar Roxx with 35+ standard safety features and Level 2 ADAS on higher variants.

Hyundai Creta

The Hyundai Creta remains one of the most prominent mass-market SUVs with Level 2 ADAS in India.

Hyundai's SmartSense suite offers 19 ADAS functions, including:

• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist

• Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go

• Lane Following Assist

• Lane Keeping Assist

• Blind-Spot Collision Warning

• Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist

Hyundai currently lists the Creta range from ₹10.90 lakh ex-showroom, although SmartSense is reserved for higher variants.

The Creta therefore remains one of the more comprehensive ADAS offerings in the mainstream mid-size SUV segment.

Hyundai Creta Electric

ADAS technology is also available on the Creta Electric.

Higher trims offer Level 2 ADAS, while the electric SUV additionally brings features such as a 360-degree camera and other driver-assistance technology.

The conventional Creta Electric ownership price currently starts from approximately ₹18.03 lakh, while Hyundai has also introduced a Battery-as-a-Service model with a lower upfront vehicle price.

Kia Seltos

The latest-generation Kia Seltos is another major entrant in the Level 2 ADAS category.

Kia has confirmed Level 2 ADAS for the new-generation SUV, positioning advanced driver assistance as one of the key technology differentiators of the model.

The latest Seltos currently starts from ₹10.99 lakh ex-showroom, with the range extending to approximately ₹19.51 lakh, keeping even its top variants comfortably below the ₹25 lakh ex-showroom mark.

Kia Syros

The Kia Syros takes ADAS technology further down Kia's SUV range.

Its higher variants offer functions including:

• Lane Keep Assist

• Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go

• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist

• Blind View Monitor

• High Beam Assist

• Driver Attention Warning

Kia's current documentation confirms these driver-assistance systems on the Syros.

The combination of radar/camera-based assistance, premium rear-seat features and compact dimensions makes the Syros particularly notable in this category.

Kia Sonet

The Kia Sonet also offers ADAS, although its suite should not be directly compared with the more comprehensive Level 2 packages offered on larger Kia SUVs.

Depending on specification, its ADAS functions include features such as:

Kia's latest documentation also shows Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go in selected specifications, reinforcing how quickly assistance technology is filtering into smaller SUVs.

Tata Motors has increasingly expanded ADAS across its SUV portfolio, with the technology now reaching the Nexon.

The arrival of driver-assistance technology in the Nexon is particularly significant because the model competes in one of India's highest-volume SUV segments.

Depending on variant, the system offers functions including automated emergency braking, collision warning and lane-related assistance.

Tata Curvv

The Tata Curvv offers Level 2 ADAS on its higher variants.

Tata's system includes functions such as:

• Lane Keep Assist

• Forward Collision Warning

• Autonomous Emergency Braking

On DCA-equipped versions, Adaptive Cruise Control also supports Stop & Go functionality.

Tata Curvv EV

The electric Curvv EV also offers ADAS on higher variants, giving buyers an alternative to conventional ICE SUVs without sacrificing driver-assistance technology.

Its inclusion reflects a wider trend: premium ADAS packages are increasingly becoming expected equipment on higher-specification electric SUVs.

Tata Harrier And Safari

Buyers needing a substantially larger SUV can also access ADAS below the ₹25 lakh price threshold on selected versions of the Tata Harrier and Safari.

Their Level 2 systems bring functions including adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assistance and collision warnings.

However, buyers should note that the ₹25 lakh ceiling applies to specific ex-showroom variants rather than necessarily covering every Harrier or Safari configuration.

MG Astor

The MG Astor was one of the earliest mainstream SUVs to push ADAS technology aggressively in India.

Its Level 2 package includes features such as:

MG Windsor EV

The MG Windsor EV has also joined the ADAS-equipped category, giving EV buyers another relatively affordable route into advanced driver assistance.

Higher-specification versions offer Level 2 functionality, further demonstrating how ADAS is becoming an increasingly important differentiator among electric vehicles.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris

One of the important recent developments has been Maruti Suzuki's expansion into Level 2 ADAS.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris offers a radar-and-camera-based system that can include:

• Lane Keep Assist

• Automatic High Beam

• Road Sign Recognition

This is strategically significant considering Maruti Suzuki's enormous share of the Indian passenger-vehicle market. Wider adoption by India's largest carmaker could accelerate the mainstream acceptance of ADAS considerably.

ADAS technology is also beginning to reach the Brezza, although its assistance package is less extensive than the full Level 2 suite available on the Victoris.

Functions can include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and other collision-warning technologies depending on specification.

Not All ADAS Systems Are The Same

This is perhaps the most important point for buyers.

A car offering Lane Departure Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking cannot automatically be considered equivalent to another offering radar-based Adaptive Cruise

Control with Stop & Go, Lane Centring and Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance.

Buyers should therefore check three things before paying extra for an ADAS variant:

1. Sensor hardware:Radar-plus-camera systems generally enable a wider suite of functions than camera-only systems.

2. Exact ADAS functions:The words “ADAS equipped” alone reveal very little. Check whether Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centring and AEB are actually included.

3. Variant availability:On many SUVs, the most useful ADAS functions remain restricted to higher trims.

ADAS Still Does Not Make A Car Autonomous

Level 2 ADAS should be treated as a driver-assistance system rather than autonomous driving technology.

Indian road conditions remain particularly challenging for ADAS because of inconsistent lane markings, two-wheelers filtering through traffic, pedestrians, animals and vehicles frequently changing lanes without warning.

The driver must therefore remain attentive, keep both hands ready to take control and never assume the vehicle can handle every situation.

Features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Following Assist and AEB can nevertheless provide a useful additional safety layer when used correctly—particularly during controlled-access highway driving.

ADAS-equipped SUVs under ₹25 lakh now span compact SUVs, mid-size SUVs, EVs and 7-seaters in India.

Auto Punditz Take

The biggest development is no longer that Indian cars offer ADAS—it is how far down the price ladder the technology has moved.

A Level 2 radar-and-camera system becoming available in a compact SUV such as the XUV 3XO at roughly the ₹12 lakh ex-showroom level would have been difficult to imagine only a few years ago. Mahindra's current configurator lists an ADAS-equipped AX5 L configuration at about ₹11.90 lakh.

At the same time, Hyundai, Kia, Tata, MG and Maruti Suzuki are steadily normalising the technology across India's biggest SUV segments.

For consumers, however, ADAS feature count should not become the next specification-sheet race. Calibration quality, intervention smoothness and how reliably the system works on Indian roads matter more than simply offering the longest list of acronyms.

The best strategy is to test Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and AEB behaviour during an extended test drive before deciding whether an expensive ADAS-equipped variant is worth the premium.

What is becoming clear is that ADAS is moving from being a luxury differentiator to a mainstream safety technology—and sub-₹25 lakh SUVs are now at the centre of that transition.
