Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG Variant-Wise Prices
Variant | Ex-showroom price |
MX Edge | ₹9.99 lakh |
RevX Edge (O) | ₹10.79 lakh |
AX5 | ₹11.19 lakh |
RevX A | ₹12.27 lakh |
The MX Edge serves as the entry-level variant, while the RevX A offers a more premium equipment package. All four versions come with a factory-fitted CNG system and six-speed manual transmission.
Turbocharged CNG Engine Offers 200 Nm Torque
Unlike many naturally aspirated CNG vehicles, the XUV 3XO ZNG uses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG system.
Mahindra has optimised the engine calibration and introduced a 10-bar CNG injection system to maintain identical claimed power and torque outputs in both fuel modes.
Specification | XUV 3XO ZNG |
Engine | 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol-CNG |
Power | 111 hp (82 kW) |
Torque | 200 Nm |
Transmission | 6-speed manual |
0–60 km/h | 4.9 seconds (claimed, CNG mode) |
0–100 km/h | 11.8 seconds (claimed, CNG mode) |
Certified efficiency | 24.7 km/kg |
The turbocharged setup makes the XUV 3XO ZNG a performance-oriented alternative in the CNG compact SUV segment, although real-world acceleration and fuel efficiency will depend on driving conditions.
Twin-Cylinder CNG Layout Preserves Boot Space
One of the XUV 3XO ZNG's practical advantages is its underfloor twin-cylinder CNG configuration.
The system helps maintain a flat luggage-loading surface and provides 270 litres of usable boot space. The spare wheel is mounted underneath the vehicle, rather than occupying space inside the luggage compartment.
This design is intended to address one of the key compromises associated with CNG vehicles: reduced luggage-carrying capacity.
Features and Safety
The entry-level MX Edge offers a 10.25-inch touchscreen, cruise control, rear AC vents and a 60:40 split-folding rear seat.
Higher variants add equipment such as dual 10.25-inch displays, connected-car features, dual-zone climate control, a sunroof, Dolby Atmos audio and upgraded upholstery, depending on the trim.
On the safety front, six airbags, electronic stability control and ISOFIX child-seat mounts are standard. The factory CNG system also includes gas-leak detection and automatic petrol-mode switching.
The standard XUV 3XO platform has achieved a five-star Bharat NCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection; this should not be presented as a separate crash-test result for the ZNG variant.
The Mahindra XUV 3XO ZNG enters a competitive market led by established CNG offerings such as the Tata Nexon iCNG and Maruti Suzuki Brezza S-CNG.
The XUV 3XO ZNG differentiates itself through its 200 Nm torque output, turbocharged engine and twin-cylinder packaging. However, buyers should also compare on-road pricing, fuel economy, service accessibility and actual boot usability before making a decision.

Auto Punditz Take
Mahindra's entry into the mainstream CNG passenger vehicle market is a significant development for the brand. The XUV 3XO ZNG positions itself as a more performance-focused alternative to conventional CNG SUVs rather than competing purely on affordability.
Its identical claimed power and torque figures in petrol and CNG modes are particularly noteworthy. The underfloor twin-cylinder arrangement also makes the SUV more practical for family use.
However, the ₹9.99 lakh starting price puts it above some established CNG rivals, while the absence of an automatic transmission limits its appeal among urban commuters.
With bookings and deliveries now underway, the key indicators to watch will be customer response, real-world fuel efficiency and the ZNG's contribution to overall XUV 3XO sales.
