VW Polo 2021 gets refreshed looks, a larger touchscreen and level two autonomous driving. It is the facelift of the sixth generation of Polo sold globally. Volkswagen looks to cross the 18 million Polo sales benchmark in the model’s 45-year history.

The key changes in the front include LED headlights with a lighting strip, redesigned front and rear bumpers, a new tailgate and LED tail lights. Dubbed as the IQ Light; now the front LEDs are available with matrix technology for the first time in the Polo.

The Polo badge has been placed to the middle of the tailgate following the latest Volkswagen trend. The R-Line trim to come with 16-inch wheels and faux exhaust pipes.

The 2021 Polo gets VW’s latest infotainment system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen as standard along with the latest connectivity options. A 9.2-inch version would also be available as an option, while the new slider temperature control that sits lower down the centre console is brought over from the Golf. Also, an 8-inch digital instrument display will sit on the cluster.

2021 Volkswagen Polo will be offered with a 1.0-litre engine in three tuning levels. The base 1.0 naturally aspirated engine will make 79 bhp, the mid-spec 1.0-litre TSI shall deliver 94 bhp power and the top end TSI to generate 108 bhp. It will be offered with an option of a 6-speed manual or a DCT.

Currently, VW doesn’t have any plans to launch the refreshed model in the Indian market.
