Ather Konarc Leaked Ahead of August 29 Launch – Production Scooter Revealed

Ather Energy is just a day away from unveiling its next major electric scooter, the Ather Konarc, and fresh leaked images have now provided the clearest look yet at the production-ready model.
The Konarc will make its official debut on August 29, 2026, at Ather Community Day and will become the first production scooter to use the company’s new-generation EL platform.
While Ather has already teased several aspects of the upcoming scooter, the latest images reveal that the Konarc will adopt a significantly more conventional and family-oriented design than the sporty Ather 450 series.

Ather Konarc Production Design Leaked
The leaked scooter is finished in what appears to be a matte silver exterior shade, contrasted by a glossy black handlebar cowl.
Integrated into the handlebar assembly is an LED headlamp, while the front apron features a distinctive U-shaped LED daytime running light.
A similar lighting theme appears to have been carried over to the rear, giving the Konarc a recognisable visual identity despite its otherwise conventional scooter proportions.
Unlike the sharper and sportier silhouette of the Ather 450 range, the Konarc appears to have been deliberately styled for mainstream family buyers.
Other visible elements include:
Wide single-piece seat
Flat floorboard
Front storage cubby
Large touchscreen instrument console
Silver pillion grab rail
Integrated pillion backrest
Contrasting bluish-grey inner panels
The combination suggests that practicality and passenger comfort will be major priorities for the new scooter.
Large Touchscreen Dashboard
One of the most noticeable elements in the leaked images is the Konarc's sizeable digital dashboard.
Ather already offers sophisticated connected displays across its existing scooters, and the Konarc appears set to continue that approach despite its expected lower positioning in the company's portfolio.
The production model is expected to offer smartphone-connected functions and Ather's software ecosystem, although the final feature distribution could differ depending on the variant.
Ather is expected to reveal the complete equipment list during Community Day.
Six Variants Reportedly Planned
Earlier leaked information suggested that the Ather Konarc could be available in as many as six variants.
These have reportedly been identified as:
S Series
SR1
SR2
SR3
SR4
Q Series
QR2
QR3
The precise differences between the S and Q versions remain unclear and should therefore be treated as unofficial until Ather confirms the final variant structure.
However, such a wide line-up would allow the company to cover multiple price and
range bands with the same underlying EL architecture.
Ather Konarc Range Could Extend Up To 200 km
The Konarc is also reported to use Ather's new Bedrock battery system, with multiple battery configurations potentially being offered.

Ather has not officially confirmed these production-spec range figures yet.
If the reported 200 km IDC range makes it to the flagship variant, however, the Konarc would potentially become one of Ather's longest-range electric scooters.
Built-In Charger Could Be A Major Convenience Feature
Another important development expected with the EL platform is onboard charging.
The Konarc is reportedly equipped with a 450W built-in charger, allowing riders to connect the scooter directly to a compatible electrical socket using a charging cable.
An additional 450W charger could reportedly be combined with the onboard unit to deliver a total charging capability of around 900W.
Under this configuration, the battery is claimed to support a 0-80% charge in around two hours.
The underlying direction is supported by Ather's own comments regarding the EL architecture.
In its FY2025-26 earnings call, Ather said the EL platform incorporates its Ather Charge Drive Controller, enabling onboard charging and reducing the size of the external charging equipment required. The company has also said that EL was specifically engineered with better cost structures in mind.
New EL Platform Is Critical To Ather's Expansion
The Konarc is particularly important because it represents the commercial debut of Ather's EL platform.
Unlike the architecture underpinning the 450 series, EL has been designed from the outset to support higher-volume and more cost-sensitive products.
Ather has previously said that the architecture moves away from aluminium frames towards a steel-based structure, incorporates a simpler transmission system and has been developed around safety, convenience and manufacturing cost.
The platform is also designed to support different electric two-wheeler configurations rather than being limited to one model.
That could eventually allow Ather to spread development and manufacturing costs across a significantly broader vehicle portfolio.
'Airwalk' Feature Reportedly Coming
Another interesting feature reportedly planned for the Konarc is called Airwalk.
The system is said to use the electric motor to assist the rider while manually moving or walking the scooter.
Electric scooters can feel relatively heavy when being pushed through parking spaces, inclines or tight areas, meaning a properly implemented walking-assist system could prove useful for everyday users.
Ather has yet to officially detail the technology.
Built For Mainstream Electric Scooter Buyers
The leaked Konarc reinforces what Ather has been signalling since introducing the EL architecture: the company wants to expand beyond its relatively premium positioning.
Ather management has previously divided India's electric two-wheeler market into four broad price bands:
Entry: below ₹1 lakh
Mass: ₹1 lakh–₹1.25 lakh
Mass-premium: ₹1.25 lakh–₹1.50 lakh
Premium: above ₹1.50 lakh
Ather acknowledged that its existing portfolio is comparatively stronger in the mass-premium and premium categories. EL is intended to give the company a more competitive cost base for the larger-volume portions of the market.
This makes the Konarc potentially one of Ather's most strategically important launches yet.
Ather Konarc Launch Tomorrow
The final specifications, battery options, variants, features and prices of the Ather Konarc are expected to be announced at Ather Community Day on August 29, 2026.
With the production model now effectively revealed through leaked images, pricing becomes the biggest unanswered question.
If Ather can combine the EL platform's lower manufacturing costs with multiple battery options and competitive entry pricing, the Konarc could allow the company to address a substantially larger section of India's electric scooter market.
It will enter a highly competitive category populated by products such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Vida electric scooters and Ola Electric's S1 family, while also complementing Ather's own Rizta.
Auto Punditz Take
The leaked Ather Konarc might appear relatively conservative compared with the futuristic 450 series, but that is probably the point.
Ather does not need another niche sporty scooter from EL. It needs a scalable, easy-to-manufacture product capable of competing in the heart of India's scooter market.
The flat floorboard, large seat, pillion backrest and conventional proportions indicate that practicality has taken precedence over visual experimentation. More importantly, the reported 100–200 km range spread and six-variant strategy could allow Ather to address buyers across multiple price brackets with one platform.
The most interesting element, however, could be the technology underneath. A steel-based architecture, simpler drivetrain and onboard charger all point towards aggressive cost engineering—an area that could determine whether Ather can transition from being a strong premium EV brand into a genuine mass-market two-wheeler player.
August 29 will therefore reveal more than the price of another Ather scooter. It could show how aggressively the company intends to chase scale in India's electric two-wheeler market.
