Best Selling Scooters in India – April 2026

India’s scooter market posted a strong year-on-year performance in April 2026. As per the attached data, the top 10 scooters together sold 6,04,228 units, compared to 4,92,735 units in April 2025, registering a healthy 23% YoY growth.
The segment was led by the Honda Activa, which continued to dominate the Indian scooter market by a wide margin. TVS also had a strong presence in the list with Jupiter, iQube and Ntorq, while electric scooters such as TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta showed strong growth.

The Honda Activa retained its leadership position with 2,20,774 units sold in April 2026. This was higher than 1,94,787 units in April 2025, translating to 13% YoY growth. Activa alone contributed over one-third of the top 10 scooter sales!
The TVS Jupiter ranked second with 1,17,383 units in April 2026. Sales grew 14% YoY from 1,02,588 units in April 2025.
The Suzuki Access was the third best-selling scooter with 70,339 units in April 2026. It grew 8% YoY over April 2025, when it sold 65,107 units.

Electric scooters made a strong impact in April 2026. The TVS iQube ranked fourth with 37,193 units, growing 35% YoY. The Bajaj Chetak followed closely with 34,304 units, registering a strong 79% YoY growth.
The Ather Rizta also entered the top 10 with 17,960 units, growing 79% YoY over April 2025. This clearly shows rising acceptance of family-oriented electric scooters in India.
The biggest growth story of April 2026 was the Hero Destini 125. It sold 25,861 units, compared to just 4,393 units in April 2025, recording a massive 489% YoY growth.
The TVS Ntorq sold 33,994 units, up 34% YoY, while the Honda Dio sold 27,083 units, growing 32% YoY.
The only scooter in the top 10 to report a decline was the Suzuki Burgman. It sold 19,337 units in April 2026, down 16% YoY from 23,050 units in April 2025.

April 2026 was a strong month for India’s scooter market, with the top 10 models growing 23% YoY. The Honda Activa continued to dominate the segment, while TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access retained their positions in the top three.
Electric scooters were a major highlight, with TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Ather Rizta posting healthy growth. At the same time, the Hero Destini 125 delivered the highest growth in the chart, indicating a sharp comeback for Hero in the scooter space. Overall, the April 2026 scooter sales data shows that India’s scooter market is growing across both petrol and electric models, with family scooters continuing to drive the majority of volumes.
