Saudi Arabia has taken perhaps its biggest step yet towards establishing its own automotive manufacturing industry. CEER, the Kingdom’s first automotive brand and original equipment manufacturer, has officially unveiled the EXOBOT sedan and EXOBOT SUV, a pair of radically styled electric flagship vehicles that will spearhead an ambitious seven-model product portfolio.

The EXOBOT models were officially revealed on September 21, 2026, by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. They will be manufactured at CEER’s new production facility at King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia.

But the significance of EXOBOT extends considerably beyond the vehicles themselves.

CEER is part of Saudi Arabia’s attempt to create an automotive manufacturing ecosystem almost from scratch, diversify an economy historically dependent on hydrocarbons and establish the Kingdom as a new vehicle-production centre in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia’s CEER has unveiled the EXOBOT sedan and SUV, two futuristic electric vehicles producing 850 hp with claimed ranges of up to 670 km.

CEER EXOBOT Makes a Dramatic First Impression

For a new manufacturer entering the global automotive market, CEER has chosen anything but a conservative approach.

Both EXOBOT models feature an extremely futuristic design dominated by sharp geometric surfaces, a dramatically raked windscreen and an almost monolithic profile.

The EXOBOT sedan measures approximately 5.26 metres long, 2.1 metres wide and 1.43 metres high, making it a large luxury sedan.

The SUV measures around 5.02 metres long and 2.1 metres wide, while its height increases to approximately 1.69 metres.

The design is arguably closer to a futuristic concept car than a conventional production vehicle.

One of EXOBOT's defining features is its huge upward-opening doors.

The design eliminates conventional B-pillars and creates a particularly wide opening into the cabin, reinforcing the concept-car appearance of both vehicles.

Despite the dramatic styling, CEER intends EXOBOT to be a production vehicle rather than merely a design exercise.

Futuristic Cabin Gets 48-Inch Display

The interior follows the same philosophy.

A massive curved display stretches almost completely across the dashboard, giving passengers an aircraft-like digital interface.

Importantly, CEER has not moved every function onto touchscreens.

Controls for frequently used functions including the gear selector, climate system and audio volume retain dedicated physical interfaces.

The EXOBOT also incorporates technologies including:

  • Steer-by-wire

  • Rear-wheel steering

  • Extensive digital interfaces

  • Advanced driver-assistance systems

  • High-performance electric propulsion

  • Dedicated physical controls for key cabin functions

The limited First Edition additionally uses black-and-red Nappa leather upholstery and unique EXOBOT First Edition detailing.

CEER EXOBOT Sedan: 850 HP and 670 km Claimed Range

The styling may attract most of the initial attention, but CEER is also targeting serious performance.

The EXOBOT sedan in its First Edition specification develops:

Power: 850 hpClaimed range: 670 kmRange cycle: NEDC0–100 km/h: 2.6 seconds10–80% charging: Around 30 minutes

CEER's figures place the car firmly within high-performance luxury EV territory.

Autocar additionally reports torque output of approximately 1,000 Nm.

Higher-performance specifications of the platform are capable of producing as much as 1,111 hp and 1,500 Nm, according to CEER figures cited by the publication. In that configuration, the sedan is claimed to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in around 2.1 seconds and reach 250 km/h.

CEER EXOBOT SUV Gets 560 km Claimed Range

The EXOBOT SUV uses a similarly powerful electric drivetrain.

Its headline specifications include:

Power: 850 hpClaimed range: 560 kmRange cycle: NEDC0–100 km/h: 2.9 seconds10–80% charging: Around 30 minutes

The higher-performance configuration is reportedly capable of 1,111 hp, with the SUV completing the 0–100 km/h run in approximately 2.4 seconds.

These are manufacturer-claimed figures, and real-world range figures could differ considerably from the quoted NEDC numbers.

CEER Plans Seven Models by 2030

EXOBOT is only the beginning.

CEER says the sedan and SUV will lead a planned portfolio of seven models by 2030.

Future products will expand into midsize and compact segments and will not necessarily be exclusively battery-electric. CEER says different propulsion technologies will be offered depending on customer requirements.

Another five vehicles are planned after EXOBOT and that CEER intends to gradually expand beyond Saudi Arabia into regional markets.

That makes the strategy considerably broader than launching a pair of halo EVs.

The objective is to establish an entire domestic automotive company capable of designing, engineering, sourcing, manufacturing and selling vehicles.

Built in Saudi Arabia

Perhaps the most consequential element of the CEER programme is localisation.

The EXOBOT models will be manufactured at the CEER Manufacturing Complex at King Abdullah Economic City.

CEER describes the facility as the centrepiece of its Saudi production operations, while Autocar reports that it will become the largest automotive manufacturing facility in the Middle East.

CEER ultimately aims for around 45% local content by 2034.

Achieving that target requires much more than constructing an assembly plant.

Saudi Arabia will need suppliers producing components, electronics, body structures, interiors and numerous other systems locally.

That supplier ecosystem is arguably where CEER could have its largest long-term economic impact.

Foxconn, BMW and Global Suppliers Play Key Roles

CEER may be Saudi Arabia's national automotive champion, but its development strategy relies heavily on international automotive and technology partners.

The company was created in 2022 as a joint venture between Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and Foxconn.

CEER has also established partnerships and supplier relationships with international companies as it builds its manufacturing and engineering capability.

This approach allows Saudi Arabia to accelerate its entry into the automotive sector instead of attempting to develop every technology internally from day one.

It is a strategy increasingly seen in emerging automotive markets: retain local ownership, manufacturing and industrial development while acquiring specialist technologies and expertise from established global suppliers.

Why Saudi Arabia Is Building a Car Industry

Saudi Arabia's automotive ambitions should also be viewed within the broader context of Vision 2030.

The Kingdom is seeking to diversify its economy away from its historic dependence on oil revenues by developing new industrial sectors.

Automotive manufacturing fits that strategy particularly well because vehicle production creates an ecosystem extending far beyond the carmaker itself.

A successful automotive industry can support:

  • Component manufacturing

  • Electronics suppliers

  • Battery and EV technology

  • Logistics operations

  • Software development

  • Engineering and R&D

  • Vehicle financing

  • Dealership and service networks

  • Skilled manufacturing employment

CEER therefore represents considerably more than another EV startup.

It is effectively an industrial-development project centred around automobiles.

EXOBOT Sales Expected to Begin in 2027

CEER plans to begin selling the EXOBOT sedan and SUV in Saudi Arabia in early 2027.

The company is expected to initially concentrate on its domestic market before gradually expanding into neighbouring regions.

India has not been announced as an EXOBOT market, and CEER has made no official statement regarding an Indian launch.

Pricing will become particularly important.

The extraordinary design and 850 hp power output clearly position EXOBOT towards the premium end of the market, but CEER will ultimately need significantly more mainstream products if it wants to establish meaningful production volumes.

That is where the five additional models planned by the end of the decade could become more important than the EXOBOT itself.

Auto Punditz Take

The CEER EXOBOT is designed to attract attention, and visually it succeeds.

The dramatic windscreen, pillarless architecture, huge doors and high-performance electric drivetrain give the sedan and SUV the presence expected of flagship vehicles from an entirely new automotive brand.

But Saudi Arabia's bigger experiment is happening behind the cars.

CEER is attempting to develop the factories, suppliers, engineering capabilities and skilled workforce required to create a domestic automotive industry where little large-scale passenger-car manufacturing previously existed.

The 850 hp EXOBOT sedan and SUV may be the cars that announce Saudi Arabia's arrival on the global automotive stage.

Whether CEER succeeds will ultimately depend less on these futuristic flagship vehicles and more on what comes after them: localisation, competitive pricing, manufacturing scale, supplier development and the five additional vehicles scheduled to arrive by 2030.

If those pieces fall into place, EXOBOT could eventually be remembered not simply as Saudi Arabia's first headline-grabbing EV, but as the vehicle that marked the beginning of a much larger automotive industry.
