Citroen had launched its C5 Aircross in India recently. The car has been priced at a premium. Citroen has now showcased its flagship car Citroen 5X, based on its CXperience concept, which was displayed in 2016. The Citroen C5X is 4900mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2785mm.
While the cars’ visual appeal is that of a mix of SUV, station wagon, and sedan. Customers have perceived it as a Sedan. V-shaped headlights and taillights have been given for the car. The car has also been equipped with Advanced Comfort suspension meaning that the ride quality is similar to the Citroen C5 Aircross-stellar. The car will have options of a regular ICE engine and a plug-in hybrid option too. The hybrid option will have comfort active suspension with three modes.
The company would have a greater focus on the hybrid. The 225hp plug-in hybrid powertrain could run for around 50km in pure electric mode and can achieve a top speed of 135kmph. The car could be equipped with a fast charger too.
The Car Cabin has been given an extended color head-up display. It also comes with an infotainment system: with a 12.0 unch unit and wireless phone charging. The digital personal assistant means that the system can be controlled very easily by voice commands too.
The other driver aids include Highway Driver Assist with level two autonomy dialed in. It also comes with a boot space of 545 liters – comparable to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, and Volvo S90.
The Car is expected to go on sale, in Europe, in the latter half of 2021.
Will this car will be launched in India too?
It is speculated that this new car could be brought to India as an E-Class rival to the C5 Aircross. However, no confirmation was issued by the company.
