India's CNG passenger vehicle dispatches crossed 1.05 lakh units in September 2026. Maruti Suzuki retained its dominance, Hyundai recorded 50% growth, and Tata Punch emerged as the best-selling non-Maruti CNG model.

India's factory-fitted CNG passenger vehicle market continued its upward trajectory in September 2026, with total dispatches reaching 1,05,410 units, compared with 83,357 units in September 2025. This represents a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 26.5%, or an additional 22,053 vehicles.

The market also remained broadly stable on a sequential basis. Compared with August 2026 dispatches of 1,05,249 units, September volumes increased marginally by 161 units, or 0.2%.

Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the segment, contributing nearly two-thirds of all CNG passenger vehicles dispatched during the month. However, Hyundai emerged as the fastest-growing manufacturer in percentage terms, while Tata Motors maintained its position as India's second-largest CNG passenger vehicle manufacturer.

At the model level, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga remained the country's highest-selling CNG car, narrowly ahead of the Dzire. Tata Punch, Hyundai Aura and Maruti Suzuki Victoris were among the other major contributors.
