India’s electric two-wheeler market maintained strong momentum in July 2026, with the leading electric scooter models collectively recording 1,68,743 units, according to dispatch data compiled by Auto Punditz. The July tally represents a sharp 168% increase compared with 63,010 units in July 2025. On a sequential basis, volumes were also higher by around 16% from 1,45,718 units in June 2026.
The month was led by the TVS iQube Electric, followed by the Bajaj Chetak, while Ather’s Rizta and Hero Vida also delivered sizeable volumes. River, Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha added further depth to an increasingly competitive electric scooter market.

TVS iQube Electric emerged as the highest-dispatched electric two-wheeler in July 2026 with 59,386 units. Volumes increased by a substantial 158% YoY, compared with 23,029 units during July 2025. The iQube also recorded healthy sequential growth of 25%, improving from 47,331 units in June.
Bajaj Auto continued its rapid expansion in electric scooters, with the Chetak Electric recording 47,184 units during July. That compares with just 11,584 units in July 2025, translating into a significant 307% YoY increase.
With TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak together accounting for more than 1.06 lakh units, the two established two-wheeler manufacturers dominated the upper end of the July EV volume rankings.
Ather Rizta remained the company’s biggest volume contributor during the month.
Ather dispatched 24,833 units of the Rizta, more than double the 11,345 units recorded during July last year, representing 119% YoY growth.
Hero MotoCorp’s Vida electric scooter range recorded 22,707 units during July 2026. Volumes were up approximately 102% over the 11,225 units dispatched in July 2025 and increased 11% compared with 20,416 units in June.
Apart from the Rizta, Ather recorded 6,211 units for the 450 series during July.
This was marginally lower than 6,321 units in June, resulting in a 2% MoM decline.
One of the more notable performances came from River, whose Indie electric scooter reached 6,039 units. That represents a strong 226% increase from 1,853 units in July 2025, while volumes also improved 16% compared with 5,217 units during June 2026. River remains considerably smaller than the leading electric two-wheeler brands, but crossing the 6,000-unit mark indicates that newer EV-focused manufacturers can still carve out meaningful volumes despite growing competition from established OEMs.
Honda’s affordable QC1 recorded 1,160 units during July. Although volumes remain relatively small, the model posted one of the strongest growth rates in the table. Dispatches rose 460% YoY from 207 units and jumped 146% month-on-month from 472 units in June.
Honda’s other electric scooter, the Activa E, recorded 104 units against 64 units in June and 16 units in July 2025.
Suzuki e-Access recorded 825 units during July, improving 35% from 611 units in June.
Meanwhile, Yamaha’s EC06 reached 294 units, compared with 168 units a month earlier, translating into approximately 75% sequential growth.
Four Models Account for Over 91% of Volumes
An interesting takeaway from the July numbers is the extent to which electric two-wheeler sales remain concentrated among a handful of high-volume products.
The top four models alone recorded:
TVS iQube – 59,386 units
Bajaj Chetak – 47,184 units
Ather Rizta – 24,833 units
Hero Vida – 22,707 units
Together, these four contributed 1,54,110 units, or approximately 91% of the 1,68,743 units. This indicates that while the number of competing electric scooter products continues to expand, consumer demand remains heavily skewed towards a few established models and brands.
Electric Scooter Market Enters a New Scale
The most significant takeaway from July 2026 is not simply the leadership position of TVS or Bajaj, but the scale now being achieved by individual electric scooter nameplates.
An electric scooter delivering nearly 60,000 units in a single month would have been difficult to imagine during the formative years of India’s EV market.
Today, the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak are operating at volumes comparable with mainstream internal-combustion two-wheelers, while Ather Rizta and Hero Vida are both exceeding 20,000 units.
With more legacy manufacturers introducing electric products and distribution networks expanding beyond major metropolitan markets, competition in this segment is likely to intensify further.

Auto Punditz Take
July 2026 highlights a major structural shift in India’s electric two-wheeler market.
The segment is increasingly being driven by established two-wheeler manufacturers rather than predominantly EV start-ups. TVS and Bajaj alone contributed more than 1 lakh units in the model-wise dataset, while Hero has also scaled Vida beyond 20,000 units.
At the same time, Ather remains a major EV specialist with combined volumes from the Rizta and 450 family exceeding 31,000 units. Perhaps the most encouraging aspect is the broad-based growth underneath the market leaders. River is scaling steadily, while Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha are gradually expanding their presence.
With 1.69 lakh units across the electric scooter models tracked here and 168% YoY growth, July 2026 demonstrates that electric two-wheelers are moving decisively from a niche alternative towards a mainstream component of India’s two-wheeler industry.
