Bigger Removable Battery Delivers 187 km Range
The biggest change is the introduction of a 4.4 kWh battery pack, consisting of two removable 2.2 kWh lithium-ion batteries. Owners can remove the batteries and charge them indoors, making the scooter particularly useful for customers living in apartments or houses without a dedicated parking-area charging point.
VIDA claims an IDC-certified range of 187 km, compared with 146 km for the VX2 Plus 3.4 kWh. This represents an improvement of 41 km on the official test cycle. The company’s brochure also lists a real-world Eco-mode range of approximately 140 km, although actual range will vary with speed, riding mode, traffic, load, weather and road conditions.
With this battery option, the VIDA VX2 range now comprises four principal configurations:
Variant | Battery | Certified range | Top speed |
VX2 Go | 2.2 kWh | 93 km | 70 km/h |
VX2 Go | 3.4 kWh | 146 km | 70 km/h |
VX2 Plus | 3.4 kWh | 146 km | 80 km/h |
VX2 Plus | 4.4 kWh | 187 km | 90 km/h |
The expanded range allows VIDA to address different customer requirements, from short urban commutes to users covering substantially longer daily distances.
Performance Upgraded to 90 km/h
The VIDA VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh uses a permanent-magnet synchronous motor producing 6 kW of peak power and 26 Nm of torque. Its claimed top speed has increased to 90 km/h, making it 10 km/h faster than the 3.4 kWh VX2 Plus.
Acceleration from 0-40 km/h remains unchanged at 3.1 seconds. Riders can choose between Eco, Ride and Sport modes, with the maximum speed restricted to 45 km/h in Eco, 70 km/h in Ride and 90 km/h in Sport mode.
A Boost function is also available to provide stronger acceleration when overtaking or merging with faster traffic. Despite the larger battery, the scooter continues to use the same basic VX2 platform and retains its urban-focused dimensions and utility.
Faster Portable and DC Charging
VIDA is offering the scooter with a 1 kW portable charger. According to the official specifications, the two batteries can be charged from 0-80% in approximately 3 hours and 17 minutes when using the 1 kW dual-battery charging arrangement. A complete charge takes around 5 hours and 8 minutes. The scooter also supports DC fast charging, which can replenish the batteries from 0-80% in approximately 65 minutesunder the specified battery and ambient-temperature conditions.
VIDA says customers can access nearly 5,900 public fast-charging stations across the country, while launch information indicates that the charging network is being expanded beyond 6,000 locations. Availability may nevertheless vary considerably between cities and individual charging points.
Features and Practicality
The VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh is equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT instrument console offering smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and connected features. It also supports over-the-air software updates for compatible vehicle systems.
Major features include:
All-LED lighting
Turn-by-turn navigation
Smartphone connectivity
Over-the-air updates
Reverse and Park modes
Regenerative braking
Two-way throttle functionality
Combined Braking System
Front disc and rear drum brakes
12-inch alloy wheels
27.2-litre under-seat storage
4.8-litre front storage compartment
The removable batteries have an IP67 protection rating. The scooter has a seat height of 777 mm and weighs 120 kg, which is 5 kg more than the VX2 Plus 3.4 kWh. Importantly, the larger battery configuration has not reduced the stated 27.2-litre under-seat storage capacity.
Seven Colour Options
The VIDA VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh is being offered in seven colours:
Matte Giallo Lime
Nexus Blue
Matt Inspired White
Pearl Red
Pearl Black
Autumn Orange
Metallic Matt Gun Metal Grey
The overall styling remains similar to the existing VX2 Plus, with its rectangular LED headlamp, compact front apron, flat floorboard and single-piece seat. (VIDA World)
Battery-as-a-Service Option Available
Apart from purchasing the scooter with its batteries, customers can also choose VIDA’s Battery-as-a-Service programme. Under the BaaS model, the customer purchases the scooter at a lower initial price and pays separately for battery usage through a subscription or usage-linked plan.
The arrangement can reduce the upfront acquisition cost, although buyers should compare the subscription tenure, monthly usage, per-kilometre charges and total ownership expenditure before selecting it over an outright battery purchase. VIDA had originally introduced BaaS to make the VX2 range more accessible to a broader group of electric-scooter buyers.
VIDA VX2 Sets Asia Book of Records Milestone
VIDA has also announced that a pre-production VX2 Plus completed a 12,111 km journey over 52 consecutive days. The ride reportedly travelled from Bengaluru to Delhi while covering the IPL host cities associated with Kolkata Knight Riders.
The journey, completed by rider Girish Shet, was recognised by the Asia Book of Records as the longest journey undertaken on an electric scooter. While such an endurance run does not directly represent normal ownership conditions, it gives Hero MotoCorp a useful platform to highlight the durability and charging-network capabilities of the VX2.

Auto Punditz Analysis
The new 4.4 kWh variant addresses one of the biggest considerations for electric two-wheeler buyers: usable range. A claimed real-world Eco range of 140 km should allow many owners to complete several days of regular urban commuting between charges.
The dual removable-battery format is another important advantage. Unlike fixed-battery scooters that require access to a parking-area charging point, the VX2’s batteries can be taken to a home or office for charging. However, owners will still need to consider the effort involved in regularly carrying two battery modules.
At ₹1.44 lakh, the VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh sits above mass-market electric scooters focused primarily on affordability. Its proposition instead centres on longer range, a 90 km/h top speed, removable batteries and access to Hero MotoCorp’s expanding sales and service network.
The introduction of this variant also gives VIDA a more complete product ladder. Customers can now choose between lower-cost Go versions, the performance-oriented 3.4 kWh Plus and the new long-range 4.4 kWh flagship. For buyers with higher daily running or limited access to frequent charging, the VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh could emerge as the most practical model in the VIDA portfolio.
