Honda Cars India dispatched 4,767 units in the domestic market and exported 1,241 units in the month of June’21.
Commenting on the business situation, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd said, “Our June despatches were in line with our production output, which we maintained at below 50% of the pre-COVID level. With the unlocking of many states and the reopening of dealer outlets in most markets, we expect car sales to further pick up from this month onwards and will accordingly ramp up our daily production. We hope that this positive momentum will continue thereby helping the industry to recover, however challenges of COVID-related disruptions and rising ownership cost due to higher raw material prices remain.”
The company had registered 1,398 units in domestic sales in the corresponding period last year amidst operational restrictions of the COVID-led national lockdown. The export numbers stood at 142 in June’20.

Honda City was the best-selling Honda for June 2021. City in a way has superseded brand Honda in India. City has been the longest-running nameplate for Honda India continuous to be one of the best selling models in the OEM's portfolio too!
Amaze ranked second in the table and 1,487 units were shipped to the respective dealers. The model is due for a facelift and the refreshed Amaze may be launched just before the festive season.
WRV was the third best-selling model for Honda Cars India in June 2021 and surpassed Jazz's dispatches.
Jazz volumes still remain <1k and hasn't been able to compete with the likes of Altroz, i20 & Baleno. Even though the model is extremely value for money; the sales hasn't been inspiring.
