Honda Cars India has officially added a new premium SUV to its India portfolio with the unveiling of the All-New Honda ZR-V Hybrid. The model has been listed on Honda Cars India’s official website, and pre-launch bookings have opened. However, Honda has not yet announced the official price, so any pricing currently circulating should be treated as an estimate.

The ZR-V will sit above the Honda Elevate and is expected to become Honda’s new flagship SUV offering in India. Unlike the Elevate, which is positioned in the mass-market midsize SUV space, the ZR-V is being brought in as a more premium product with hybrid technology, global styling and a more upmarket cabin.
Honda ZR-V: What Has Been Confirmed?
Honda’s official India website now lists the All New ZR-V, confirming the model’s India entry.
Media reports suggest that Honda has opened pre-launch bookings and that the official price announcement is expected later, with deliveries likely to begin from July 2026. The ZR-V is expected to be imported as a CBU, which means pricing could be on the premium side.
Expected Engine and Hybrid Positioning
The biggest talking point of the Honda ZR-V is its hybrid powertrain. Reports indicate that the India-spec model will use a 2.0-litre hybrid powertrain, making it Honda’s first SUV in India with this engine-hybrid setup.
This gives Honda an opportunity to target buyers looking for a premium SUV with strong fuel efficiency, refined driving manners and lower running costs . It also strengthens Honda’s hybrid strategy in India, where the brand already sells the City e:HEV.
Design and Features
The Honda ZR-V carries a global SUV design language with a sleek front profile, slim LED headlights, L-shaped DRLs, a black grille and a sporty bumper design. It also gets 18-inch alloy wheels and a clean, premium-looking cabin layout with several physical controls.
The ZR-V’s cabin is expected to focus on comfort, practicality and a more premium feel than Honda’s existing India models. This should help the SUV appeal to buyers upgrading from mass-market midsize SUVs but not necessarily looking for a full-size luxury badge.
Expected Competition
Once launched, the Honda ZR-V will likely compete with premium SUVs such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and other imported or premium-positioned SUVs in India. Its hybrid powertrain could be its biggest differentiator, especially for customers looking for a refined petrol-hybrid alternative.
Why This Matters for Honda India
Honda currently has a limited SUV portfolio in India, with the Elevate being its key volume SUV. The ZR-V gives the company a more premium product and helps Honda re-enter a higher price band where it has been absent for some time.
However, if the ZR-V comes as a CBU, volumes may remain limited. The model could work more as a brand-builder than a mass-volume product. Its success will depend heavily on pricing, feature packaging and how strongly Honda positions the hybrid advantage.
The Honda ZR-V Hybrid is a positive step for Honda India, especially at a time when SUV demand continues to dominate the market. The model gives Honda a premium hybrid SUV, but the final price will decide its real impact. For now, the correct headline is not that the ZR-V has been fully launched, but that Honda has unveiled the ZR-V Hybrid in India and opened bookings, with prices still awaited.
