Crossing 1 lakh retail registrations in June marks one of the strongest monthly performances for the Indian tractor industry in recent years. The healthy growth indicates improving rural cash flows, timely agricultural activities and continued demand for mechanisation across farming regions.
Mahindra retained its leadership in the tractor market through both its brands. Mahindra Tractor Division sold 24,327 units, registering nearly 39% YoY growth while increasing market share from 21.77% to 24.13%. Swaraj Division also delivered a strong performance with 18,860 units, growing almost 32% YoY and improving its market share to 18.71%.
Together, the two Mahindra brands accounted for 43,187 tractors, giving the group a combined market share of 42.84%, further strengthening its dominance in India's tractor industry.
International Tractors Limited (Sonalika) maintained its third position with 13,184 registrations, recording 26.4% growth. The company's market share remained largely stable at just over 13%, reflecting consistent demand across its product portfolio.
TAFE retailed 12,069 tractors, posting nearly 23% growth, although its market share slipped marginally from 12.20% to 11.97%.
Escorts Kubota sold 10,371 units, up 22.7% YoY, while its market share eased slightly to 10.29%.
CNH Industrial emerged as one of the fastest-growing brands with 34.6% YoY growth, increasing market share from 4.31% to 4.63%.
Eicher Tractors also impressed with 28% growth, slightly improving its market share to 6.17%.
John Deere India registered 7,165 tractors, up 16% over last year. However, the company's market share declined from 7.68% to 7.11%, indicating that competitors expanded at a faster pace during the month.

June 2026 reinforces the strong momentum in India's tractor market. Retail registrations rose by more than 25% YoY, driven by favourable agricultural conditions, improving rural liquidity and continued farm mechanisation. Mahindra further consolidated its leadership with gains across both its core tractor brand and Swaraj, while Sonalika, TAFE, Escorts Kubota, Eicher and CNH all recorded healthy double-digit growth.
With the southwest monsoon progressing well and Kharif sowing activity gathering pace, the tractor industry appears well positioned to sustain healthy demand in the coming months, although much will depend on rainfall distribution, crop output and rural income trends.
