Kia India Sales August 2026: Volumes Rise 48% to 29,042 Units; Seltos Leads

Kia recorded 29,042 units in August 2026, registering 48% year-on-year growth over the 19,608 units reported in August 2025. Volumes also increased 3% month on month from 28,200 units in July 2026.

The Seltos remained Kia’s largest contributor, followed by the Sonet and Carens. Together, these three models accounted for 92.5% of Kia’s August volumes, underlining their importance to the brand’s overall performance.

A key development was the start of Kia Sorento dispatches, with 365 units shipped in its first month. While the Seltos remained the brand’s largest volume contributor, the Sorento added a fresh contribution to Kia’s monthly tally.

• Kia Seltos registered 11,716 units, compared with 4,687 units in August 2025, translating into 150% YoY growth. Its contribution stood at 40.3% of Kia’s monthly total.

• The Seltos added 7,029 units over its year-ago tally, accounting for approximately 75% of Kia’s overall annual volume increase. However, sales declined 7% against July’s 12,541 units, indicating a softer sequential performance despite the substantial annual gain.

• Sonet finished second with 9,048 units, growing 17% YoY from 7,741 units. Compared with July’s 8,913 units, volumes increased 2%.

• Accounting for 31.2% of Kia’s total, the Sonet provided a steady contribution. Combined Seltos and Sonet volumes reached 20,764 units, representing approximately 71.5% of Kia’s August tally.

• Carens recorded 6,093 units, down 11% from 6,822 units in August 2025. Nevertheless, volumes improved 14% over July’s 5,352 units.

• Syros volumes reached 1,742 units, compared with 308 units a year earlier, resulting in 466% YoY growth. The launch of Syros EV has helped the nameplate to significatnly grow volumes.

• Kia Sorento Dispatches Begin: 365 Units Shipped in First Month. Sorento opened its dispatch account with 365 units in August 2026. This marks the beginning of dealer shipments for the model, contributing approximately 1.3% of Kia’s total August volumes.

• Carnival registered 78 units, up 56% YoY from 50 units but down 14% MoM from 91 units.

Kia’s August performance combines strong annual growth with a more modest sequential increase. The Seltos drove most of the year-on-year improvement, while gains from the Carens, Syros and Sonet, alongside the Sorento’s contribution, helped lift overall volumes despite the Seltos’ monthly decline.

The portfolio remains heavily dependent on the Seltos and Sonet, which together contribute more than seven out of every ten units. Sustaining the Carens’ recovery and building further Syros volumes would give Kia a broader foundation for growth in the months ahead.
