Mahindra appears to be preparing the first major update for the Scorpio N, with a camouflaged test mule of the SUV spotted testing in India. The Scorpio N was launched
in 2022 and has since remained one of Mahindra’s strongest-selling nameplates in the ladder-frame SUV space. The latest spy shots suggest that the facelift will focus more on features, cabin technology and safety upgrades rather than a complete mechanical overhaul.

Scorpio N Facelift: What The Spy Shots Reveal
The test mule continues to carry the familiar upright and muscular Scorpio N silhouette, which means Mahindra is unlikely to alter the SUV’s core design identity. However, the front and rear sections were camouflaged, hinting at updates to the grille, bumpers and lighting elements.
The bigger talking point is the expected feature upgrade. Reports suggest that the Scorpio N facelift could get a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and possibly an ADAS suite. These additions would help Mahindra strengthen the Scorpio N’s appeal against newer and more feature-loaded SUVs.
Cabin could get a major tech boost expected features of the Scorpio N facelift
Premium cabin enhancements compared to Scorpio Classic
Larger infotainment screen
Updated digital instrument cluster
Revised interior trims
Improved connected-car features
Potential addition of a panoramic sunroof
Dual 10.25-inch displays in higher variants
360-degree surround-view camera in higher variants
ADAS Could Be The Biggest Safety Addition
Mahindra has been steadily moving towards more advanced safety and driver-assistance technology across its SUV portfolio. The Scorpio N facelift could receive Level 2 ADAS features, though the final feature list will depend on variant positioning.
If introduced, ADAS would make the Scorpio N more competitive against modern SUVs that already offer camera- and radar-based safety technologies. The SUV already has strong safety credentials, and additional active safety features would further strengthen
its family-SUV positioning.
Engines Likely To Continue Unchanged
Mechanically, the Scorpio N facelift is expected to retain the existing 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine options. The current Scorpio N petrol produces up to 203 hp, while the diesel is offered in multiple states of tune, with higher variants producing up to 175 hp. Transmission choices include 6-speed manual and automatic options, while 4WD is offered with select diesel variants.
This means Mahindra is likely to focus on refinement, equipment and variant rejigging rather than major changes to the powertrain lineup.
Why This Facelift Matters
The Scorpio N sits in a unique position in the Indian market. It combines ladder-frame toughness, strong road presence, seven-seat practicality and powerful engines.
However, customer expectations in the ₹15 lakh–₹25 lakh SUV space have changed
rapidly, with buyers now looking for larger screens, panoramic sunroofs, 360-degree cameras, connected tech and ADAS.
The facelift will allow Mahindra to keep the Scorpio N fresh without disturbing its core strengths. For buyers who want a rugged SUV but do not want to compromise on modern features, the updated Scorpio N could become even more attractive.
Expected Launch Timeline
Mahindra has not officially confirmed the launch timeline yet. However, given that testing activity has already begun, the Scorpio N facelift could arrive sometime in 2026.
Pricing is expected to move slightly upwards, especially for the higher trims that receive the new feature additions.
The Scorpio N facelift is unlikely to be a radical redesign, and that is a good thing. The SUV’s biggest strengths are its stance, performance, road presence and rugged character. What Mahindra needs to add is a more premium and tech-rich experience, and the facelift seems aimed exactly at that.
If Mahindra manages to package panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, larger screens and ADAS without pushing prices too aggressively, the Scorpio N could become an even stronger proposition in India’s premium SUV market.
