Maruti Suzuki India has announced another price revision for its passenger vehicle portfolio. Prices of select Maruti Suzuki models will increase by up to ₹20,000 during September 2026.
This is the company’s third price hike announced since May 2026. Unlike the previous two revisions, which covered almost the entire Maruti Suzuki range, the latest increase will apply only to selected models and variants.

Maruti Suzuki’s September 2026 Price Hike
Particular | Details |
Maximum price increase | Up to ₹20,000 |
Effective period | September 2026 |
Models affected | Select models and variants |
Reason stated | Rising input and operational costs |
Previous revision | August 2026 |
Price hikes since May | Three |
Maruti Suzuki disclosed the latest revision through a regulatory filing dated September 7, 2026. However, the company has not yet released a complete model-wise and variant-wise price list.
Therefore, the maximum hike of ₹20,000 should not be interpreted as a uniform increase across the entire range. The actual revision may differ depending on the model, variant, powertrain and transmission selected.
Third Maruti Suzuki Price Increase Since May
Maruti Suzuki has now announced three price revisions within a relatively short period:
The first revision, announced in May and implemented in June 2026, increased prices by up to ₹30,000.
Another portfolio-wide revision followed in August, once again raising prices by as much as ₹30,000.
The latest September revision is limited to select models, with the maximum increase capped at ₹20,000.
The narrower scope of the latest hike suggests that Maruti Suzuki may be adjusting prices according to the cost structure and demand position of individual products instead of implementing another uniform portfolio-wide revision.
Why Is Maruti Suzuki Increasing Prices Again?
Maruti Suzuki has attributed the revision to continued inflationary pressure and elevated input costs. Vehicle manufacturers have been dealing with fluctuations in raw-material prices, logistics expenses, component costs and wider global supply-chain uncertainty.
The company said that it had been making continuous efforts to absorb these additional expenses through internal cost-reduction measures. A portion of the increased cost, however, will now be passed on to customers.
Previous August 2026 Revision
Maruti Suzuki had revised prices across several models in August 2026. The Baleno received the largest increase of up to ₹30,000, while the e Vitara became costlier by up to ₹20,000.
Models including the Jimny, Victoris, Invicto, Fronx, XL6, Ertiga, Dzire, Swift, Brezza, Grand Vitara and WagonR were also covered under the previous adjustment.
The September increase will be separate from those revisions, potentially making some variants costlier for the second consecutive month.
What Does It Mean for Buyers?
Customers planning to purchase a Maruti Suzuki car should confirm the latest ex-showroom price with their dealership before completing a booking.
The final financial impact may vary based on:
Model and variant selected
Petrol, CNG, hybrid or electric powertrain
Manual or automatic transmission
Date of invoicing
Location-based registration and insurance charges
Dealer discounts and festive offers
Because road tax and insurance are usually calculated using the ex-showroom price, even a ₹20,000 increase can result in a slightly higher on-road price.
Existing bookings may also be billed according to the price applicable on the date of invoicing rather than the original booking date, depending on the dealership’s terms.
Price Hike Arrives During the Festive Season
The revision comes as India’s automotive market enters the important festive sales period. Manufacturers and dealerships generally introduce discounts, exchange bonuses and financing programmes during this season.
Consequently, available festive benefits could partially offset the increase on certain models. Buyers should compare the revised price and the complete on-road quotation instead of evaluating only the headline discount.
Auto Punditz Take
Three price revisions since May could affect price-sensitive buyers, particularly in Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level hatchback and compact-car segments. Although the latest maximum increase is lower than the ₹30,000 announced during the previous two rounds, repeated adjustments can add meaningfully to the final acquisition cost.
Limiting the September revision to selected products is comparatively less disruptive than another portfolio-wide increase. The actual impact will become clear only after Maruti Suzuki publishes the revised model- and variant-level prices.
For customers already planning a purchase, the sensible approach would be to compare the latest quotation with available festive discounts, exchange benefits and financing offers. A large dealer benefit may still outweigh the price revision, while models without substantial discounts could become noticeably more expensive.
All prices and revisions mentioned are indicative and may vary by model, variant and location. Buyers should obtain the latest quotation from an authorised Maruti Suzuki dealership.
