Ather Konarc: the balanced new family scooter
The Konarc is Ather’s attempt to enter the more price-sensitive, mainstream electric scooter market. It starts at an effective ex-showroom price of ₹99,999 in Bengaluru and is offered in six variants across two product lines. Depending on the version, the claimed IDC range goes up to 200km.
Its appeal is not based on range alone. The Konarc gets 14-inch wheels, long-travel suspension and a metal body, making it suitable for Indian roads and family use. Ather has also introduced features such as Advanced Electronic Braking System, MagicKey, AutoPop and AirWalk.
The ownership proposition is equally important. Ather has doubled the scheduled service interval to 10,000km and offers a 10-year/1,00,000km warranty on its new-generation battery pack, subject to the applicable terms. Its established software and charging ecosystem should also give it an advantage over newer entrants.
The Konarc may not lead every specification column, but it appears to offer one of the most balanced combinations of comfort, technology and ownership support.
Simple Wave: strongest performance and range choice
The Simple Wave is positioned as a practical family scooter, but its upper variants also offer serious performance. Prices start at ₹1,09,999 and extend to ₹1,89,999, ex-showroom Bengaluru. Six variants are available with battery capacities ranging from 2.2kWh to 5.0kWh.

This wide variant spread allows buyers to choose according to their budget, but the top model enters premium-electric-scooter territory. Simple Energy also has a smaller sales and service footprint than TVS, Bajaj or Hero MotoCorp. Ola S1 Z: exceptional specifications for the price
The Ola S1 Z has one of the most aggressive price-to-range equations in the market. The 3.1kWh version costs ₹79,999 and offers a certified range of 179km. The 5.1kWh version is priced at ₹99,999 and carries a headline IDC range of 301km.
Both variants use a 4kW peak-power motor, have a 70km/h top speed and use LFP battery cells. On paper, no other scooter in this group offers as much certified range below ₹1 lakh. However, buyers should not assume that the 301km laboratory-cycle figure will be reproduced in mixed real-world use. Ola’s service availability, delivery experience and long-term product support in the buyer’s location should be checked carefully.
The S1 Z is the value winner on specifications, but the ownership experience will decide whether that value holds over several years.
TVS iQube: the safe and established family choice
The TVS iQube has one of the widest variant portfolios in the segment. Battery capacities range from 2.3kWh to 5.3kWh, while certified range extends from 114km to 212km. Most versions achieve a top speed of 82km/h, although the entry 2.3kWh version is rated at 68km/h.
The iQube ST 5.3kWh is the long-range flagship, offering 212km IDC range, an 82km/h top speed and 32 litres of underseat storage. Lower variants provide less range but are more affordable and may be sufficient for buyers travelling 30–50km a day.
The iQube’s biggest strength is not a single headline specification. It benefits from TVS Motor’s established dealer and service network, familiar scooter ergonomics and a growing charging ecosystem. Its conventional design should also appeal to families who want an EV that feels easy to operate.
Prices displayed by TVS can include central or state incentives, so customers should compare the complete ex-showroom and on-road break-up rather than relying only on an advertised effective price.
Bajaj Chetak 35 Series: premium build and durability
The Chetak 35 Series continues to stand out through its metal construction and premium, neo-retro styling. The C3501, C3502 and C3503 use 3.5kWh batteries and offer certified ranges of 151–153km.
Following the latest updates, the C3501 and C3502 can reach 80km/h, while the C3503 reaches 70km/h. Charging from zero to 80 percent takes around three hours on the C3501 and about three hours 25 minutes on the other two versions.
The Series 35 also provides a 35-litre boot, improving its everyday utility. Higher versions offer connected functions, while certain advanced features are unlocked through the optional TecPac.
Compared with Ola or Simple Energy’s biggest range claims, the Chetak looks conservative. Its appeal instead lies in solid construction, brand familiarity, a broadening service network and an ownership experience designed around durability. VIDA VX2: the practical option for apartment residents
VIDA VX2’s defining feature is its removable battery system. This allows owners to take the batteries indoors for charging, which can be particularly useful for apartment residents who do not have a charging socket near their parking bay.
The range begins with the VX2 Go and extends to the better-equipped VX2 Plus. Depending on the version, battery capacities run from 2.2kWh to 4.4kWh and certified range spans approximately 93–187km. The VX2 Go versions reach 70km/h, while the VX2 Plus can offer 80km/h or 90km/h depending on battery configuration.
VIDA also offers Battery-as-a-Service, which reduces the initial purchase price but adds a recurring usage-linked battery payment. Buyers should calculate their likely monthly kilometres before deciding between the subscription and outright-purchase options.

Which electric scooter offers the best range?
Based purely on certified figures, the Ola S1 Z 5.1kWh leads with 301km, followed by the Simple Wave at up to 243km, TVS iQube at 212km, Ather Konarc at up to 200km, VIDA VX2 at 187km and Chetak 35 Series at 153km.
This order should not be interpreted as a real-world road-test result. Range varies with speed, riding mode, load, traffic, tyre pressure, gradients, temperature and use of connected features. The larger-battery variants also cost more or weigh more than their respective entry models.
For most urban users travelling below 50km daily, dependable charging and service support may matter more than choosing the scooter with the largest certified number.
