Maruti Suzuki reports sale of 1,67,014 units in March 2021

Maruti Suzuki announced sales of 1.67 lakh units in March 2021, compared to 83,792 units in the corresponding month last year.

Maruti Suzuki India reported growth of 94.24 percent in domestic wholesales to 1,49,518 units in March 2021 against 76,976 units in the domestic market in March 2020.


Total sales, including domestic and export, dropped 6.7 percent in the financial year 2020-21, compared to the earlier fiscal of 2019-20. Domestic sales in FY 2019-20 declined 18 percent


The sales in the mini sub-segment (Alto and S-Presso) increased 54.20 percent to 24,653 units in March 2021 from 15,988 units in the same month last year.

Sales of the compact segment, including Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, jumped to 82,201 units as against 40,519 cars in March last year.

1,628 units of mid-sized Ciaz were sold in March 2021, against 1,863 units in March last year

Overall, the total domestic sales, including passenger vehicle sales and light commercial vehicles stood at 1,49,518 units last month, compared to 76,976 units in the last year.
