India's largest passenger carmaker Maruti Suzuki has confirmed an increase in the prices of its cars, effective from September 2021.
"We wish to inform you that over the past year the cost of the company's vehicles continues to be adversely impacted due to increase in various input costs. Hence, it has become imperative to pass on some impact of the additional cost to the customers through a price rise," the company said in its press release. The price rise has been planned across models in September 2021, it added.
This is the third price hike by Maruti Suzuki this year! Maruti Suzuki had initially increased the prices for its cars in January 2021. The price increase varied across models and was up to ₹34,000. Later in April 2021; the prices were increased again citing higher input costs.
