Maruti Suzuki Victoris Aurum Edition Launched at ₹22,990 – What's New and What's Unchanged?
The special-edition accessory package celebrates the Victoris' first anniversary with copper accents, chrome garnishes and practical cabin upgrades. However, the strong-hybrid SUV remains mechanically unchanged.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced the Victoris Aurum Edition, a special celebratory version of its midsize SUV, at an accessory kit price of ₹22,990. Launched to commemorate the Victoris' first anniversary and significant sales milestones, the Aurum Edition brings cosmetic enhancements and additional interior accessories to the Strong Hybrid variants.
Unlike a conventional special edition featuring upgraded equipment or a new powertrain, the Victoris Aurum Edition is essentially an accessory-led styling package. It adds copper-coloured inserts, chrome detailing and cabin protection accessories without changing the SUV's performance, fuel efficiency or existing technology.
The special edition also marks Maruti Suzuki's claims that the Victoris has become India's fastest-selling passenger vehicle to cross the 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh cumulative sales milestones.

What's Different in the Victoris Aurum Edition?
The Aurum Edition gets a combination of exterior styling enhancements and functional accessories. Maruti Suzuki has focused on making the Victoris look more distinctive without modifying its original design.
1. Copper Accents – The Biggest Visual Change
The most noticeable update is the introduction of copper-coloured inserts around different parts of the SUV. These include the front, side and rear skid plate designs and wheel arches. The copper detailing creates a contrast against the vehicle's body colour, lending the SUV a more premium and distinctive appearance.
2. Additional Chrome Garnishes
Maruti Suzuki has introduced chrome accessories across several exterior elements, including the front grille, fenders, front and rear bumpers, body-side mouldings and door visors. The combination of copper accents and chrome embellishments gives the Aurum Edition a more decorative appearance than the standard Victoris Strong Hybrid.
3. Practical Interior Accessories
Unlike the exterior enhancements, the interior additions concentrate primarily on protection and everyday utility. The Aurum Edition includes all-weather 3D cabin floor mats, a 3D luggage compartment mat and a rear trunk sill guard. These accessories are intended to protect the vehicle's flooring and luggage area from dirt, moisture and wear during regular use.
Regular Victoris vs Aurum Edition – What's Different?

Wheel arches | Standard finish | Copper-coloured accents |
Front grille | Standard design | Chrome garnish |
Bumpers and fenders | Standard styling | Additional chrome accessories |

Door visors | Accessory dependent | Chrome-finished visors |
Cabin floor mats | Standard/accessory dependent | All-weather 3D mats |

Claimed fuel economy | 28.65 km/l | 28.65 km/l |
The changes are restricted to cosmetic styling and accessories. There are no announced revisions to the vehicle's engine, transmission, suspension, infotainment system or core safety equipment.
Strong Hybrid Powertrain Remains Unchanged
Under the bonnet, the Victoris Aurum Edition continues to use Maruti Suzuki's existing 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol strong-hybrid powertrain.
The system combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery, allowing electric-only operation under suitable driving conditions.
Specification | Victoris Aurum Edition |
Engine | 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol |
Hybrid technology | Strong hybrid with EV mode |
Combined power | Approx. 116 PS |
Transmission | e-CVT automatic |
Drivetrain | Front-wheel drive |
ARAI-certified mileage | 28.65 km/l |
The strong-hybrid powertrain remains one of the Victoris' important differentiators, particularly for buyers prioritising fuel efficiency and automatic transmission
convenience.
However, the Aurum Edition introduces no additional power, battery capacity or fuel-economy advantage over the regular Victoris Strong Hybrid.

Victoris Aurum Edition Price – Is ₹22,990 the Car's Price?
An important distinction is that ₹22,990 is the price of the Aurum accessory kit, not the price of the SUV itself.
The standard Victoris Strong Hybrid is currently listed between approximately ₹16.43 lakh and ₹19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Aurum styling package is an additional cost for buyers selecting the eligible Strong Hybrid variants.
Consequently, the Aurum Edition should not be considered an entirely new variant with a separate mechanical specification.
Victoris Celebrates One Year and Record Sales
Maruti Suzuki introduced the Aurum Edition to commemorate the Victoris completing its first year in the Indian market.
According to the company, the Victoris recorded the highest first-year sales for a newly launched passenger vehicle in India.
Maruti Suzuki also states that the SUV became the fastest-selling passenger vehicle to achieve both 1 lakh and 1.5 lakh cumulative sales milestones. These claims were supported by certifications from JATO Dynamics, dated May 31, September 16 and October 12, 2026, covering the respective achievements.
The Victoris also received the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) 2026 award, strengthening its position in India's highly competitive midsize SUV segment.

Shahid Kapoor Joins the Aurum Edition Campaign
Maruti Suzuki has also announced Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor as the face of the Victoris Aurum Edition campaign.
The association forms part of the company's festive-season marketing strategy and is intended to strengthen the SUV's appeal among younger, technology-oriented buyers.
The name Aurum, derived from the Latin word for gold, reflects the celebratory theme associated with the SUV's first year and sales achievements.
Is the Victoris Aurum Edition Worth ₹22,990?
The Aurum Edition offers a relatively affordable personalisation option for customers already planning to purchase the Victoris Strong Hybrid.
For buyers who prefer copper highlights, additional chrome accessories and practical cabin protection, the ₹22,990 package provides a coordinated set of upgrades.
However, customers expecting improved performance, new technology or additional safety equipment will not find those changes in the Aurum Edition. The value proposition ultimately depends on whether the buyer appreciates the styling modifications and would otherwise purchase similar accessories individually.
Auto Punditz Take
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris Aurum Edition is primarily a commemorative styling package rather than a substantial product upgrade.
At ₹22,990, Maruti Suzuki is offering greater visual differentiation through copper accents and chrome garnishes, along with practical cabin accessories. These additions may appeal to customers seeking a more personalised appearance without substantial additional expenditure.
From a product perspective, however, the Victoris Aurum Edition brings no meaningful mechanical, technological or safety-related improvements over the existing Strong Hybrid.
Strategically, the launch allows Maruti Suzuki to maintain consumer interest in the Victoris during the festive season while celebrating its first-year sales achievements.
AutoPunditz Verdict: The Aurum Edition makes sense for buyers who want the added styling and accessories. For customers prioritising performance, safety, mileage and value for money, the regular Victoris Strong Hybrid delivers essentially the same core ownership experience.
