Mercedes-Benz India has introduced the GLE Night Edition and GLS Night Edition, adding a darker, more exclusive design package to two of its most popular luxury SUVs in India. The limited-series models bring a blacked-out exterior theme, exclusive colour options, upgraded interiors and additional premium features aimed at customers looking for a more personalised luxury SUV experience.
The new Night Edition range is part of a global limited series, with restricted availability for the Indian market. Mercedes-Benz says the GLE and GLS are among its highest-selling luxury SUVs in India, and India ranks among the brand’s top global markets for both models.

Mercedes-Benz GLE & GLS Night Edition Prices
Model | Price, ex-showroom India |
Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d Night Edition | ₹1.05 crore |
Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 Night Edition | ₹1.14 crore |
Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 Night Edition | ₹1.41 crore |
Mercedes-Benz GLS 450d Night Edition | ₹1.43 crore |
What Is Special About the Night Edition?
The biggest highlight of the Night Edition is its blacked-out exterior treatment, which gives the GLE and GLS a more aggressive and premium road presence. Mercedes-Benz is offering the SUVs in two exterior shades: Obsidian Black and Alpine Grey. The Alpine Grey colour is exclusive to the Night Edition and is not available on the standard GLE or GLS variants.
Inside, both SUVs get black Nappa leather upholstery and Anthracite open-pore oak wooden trim, again exclusive to this edition. Mercedes-Benz has also made the Head-Up Display standard on both Night Edition models, improving the overall premium and driver-focused experience.
The GLE Night Edition gets an additional upgrade in the form of AIRMATIC suspension, which further differentiates it from the standard GLE and enhances ride comfort.
GLE Night Edition: For the Core Luxury SUV Buyer

The Mercedes-Benz GLE has been one of the brand’s key performers in India’s luxury SUV space. With the Night Edition, Mercedes-Benz has added a sportier and more exclusive character to the SUV. The black exterior detailing, exclusive Alpine Grey paint option, Nappa leather cabin and AIRMATIC suspension make the GLE Night Edition more appealing for buyers who want a differentiated version of the regular GLE.
The GLE Night Edition is available in two variants: GLE 300d 4MATICÂ and GLE 450 4MATIC. The 300d uses a 1,950 cc four-cylinder diesel engine producing 198 kW and 550 Nm, while the 450 uses a 2,999 cc six-cylinder petrol engine producing 280 kW and 500 Nm.
GLS Night Edition: Flagship SUV Gets a Darker Look

The Mercedes-Benz GLS is the brand’s flagship luxury SUV in India and is positioned in the top-end luxury SUV segment. The Night Edition treatment gives the GLS a more commanding visual presence, especially with the black exterior finish and exclusive cabin appointments.
The GLS Night Edition is available in GLS 450 4MATICÂ and GLS 450d 4MATICÂ variants. The petrol GLS 450 produces 280 kW and 500 Nm, while the diesel GLS 450d produces 270 kW and 750 Nm. Both variants come with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and AIRMATIC suspension.

The Night Edition launch is a clear attempt by Mercedes-Benz India to strengthen its luxury SUV portfolio with more personalised, limited-volume variants. Instead of launching an entirely new product, Mercedes-Benz is using exclusivity, dark styling and richer cabin appointments to create stronger appeal among buyers who want something different from the regular GLE and GLS.
This strategy also fits well with the current luxury car market trend, where customers are increasingly looking for bespoke styling, limited editions and higher personalisation. With India emerging as one of Mercedes-Benz’s top global markets for the GLE and GLS, the Night Edition gives the brand another tool to keep demand strong in the premium SUV space.
The GLE Night Edition will appeal to buyers looking for a luxury SUV with stronger road presence and added comfort features, while the GLS Night Edition targets customers who want a more exclusive version of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship SUV.
