Oben Electric Starts Rorr Evo Deliveries After Strong Initial Booking Response

Electric motorcycle manufacturer Oben Electric has commenced customer deliveries of its recently launched Rorr Evo, beginning with Bengaluru. The company says deliveries will gradually expand to its retail network across India over the coming weeks.

The Rorr Evo was introduced in May 2026 and, according to Oben Electric, received more than 25,000 bookings within the first 15 days of launch. While the booking figures are company-claimed, the response indicates growing consumer interest in premium electric motorcycles, a segment that remains relatively small compared to electric scooters in India.

The first batch of customers received their motorcycles through the company’s “First to Rorr” delivery event in Bengaluru. Oben says deliveries will now be extended through its network of more than 150 showrooms spread across over 90 cities in 18 states.

To support the rollout, the Bengaluru-based manufacturer stated that its production facility has an annual manufacturing capacity of over one lakh electric motorcycles. The company also highlighted its vertically integrated manufacturing approach, where key EV components—including batteries, motors, vehicle control units, chargers and software—are developed and manufactured in-house. This strategy is intended to provide greater control over product quality, technology development and supply-chain management.

Rorr Evo: Key Specifications

Priced at ₹1,24,999 (ex-showroom), the Oben Rorr Evo is positioned as a performance-oriented electric motorcycle for everyday commuting.

• 3.4 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery

• Claimed IDC range of 180 km

• Top speed of 110 km/h

• 0-40 km/h acceleration in 3 seconds

• 0-80% fast charging in 90 minutes

The motorcycle also features a 5-inch TFT display, OTA software updates, turn-by-turn navigation, geo-fencing, remote immobilisation, emergency SOS and connected vehicle features through Oben’s ARGUS platform. The company has also introduced SmartIQ, an AI-based ride optimisation system that it claims can improve riding range by up to 15%, although real-world performance will depend on riding conditions and usage patterns.

Electric Motorcycles: The Next Growth Opportunity?

India remains the world’s largest motorcycle market, with motorcycles accounting for nearly two-thirds of annual two-wheeler sales. However, electric adoption within this segment has been considerably slower than in scooters due to higher performance expectations, range requirements and pricing sensitivity.

Manufacturers such as Oben Electric, alongside several established and emerging EV players, are now attempting to address these challenges through motorcycles offering longer claimed ranges, faster charging, improved battery technology and connected features.

The use of LFP battery chemistry is another notable aspect of the Rorr Evo. Compared to conventional NMC batteries used in many electric two-wheelers, LFP batteries are generally recognised for better thermal stability, longer cycle life and improved safety, though they typically offer lower energy density.
