After Mahindra and Mahindra, now Renault too has tied up with CERO; and launched its RELIVE program.
CERO Recycling is a joint venture between Mahindra Intrertade and the state-owned MSTC, India’s first organized scrap vehicle recycling company.
By this arrangement, Renault will be providing customers with a channel facility that offers a credible option for scrapping their old vehicle and buy a new Renault. There could be additional attractive benefits too.
The RELIVE program has been rolled out at Delhi & NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Bengaluru.
Customers can get their old vehicle, of any brand, to the authorized Renault Dealerships at these 6 locations; and get a fair scrap valuation for their old vehicle. They could then proceed to buy Renault vehicles like Kwid, Duster, and Triber, for which they will also get additional scrap benefits.
The Renault dealership will offer end-to-end service for the old vehicle, right from vehicle evaluation to official registration at the RTO as well as handing over the official certificate of deposit/destruction of the older vehicle.
This facility would be available for the two-wheeler customers too, who can then avail a 7.99% rate of interest from Renault Finance when they buy Renault Cars. Offering the RELIVE facility to even Two Wheeler customers could be a Game Changer, as these customers upgrade/add to a Renault vehicle in their lifestyle.
"The scrappage policy is a very important step towards the right direction in making India a hub of manufacturing and elevating the Indian auto industry a notch up in terms of better technology adoption, safer and cleaner vehicles," Venkatram Mamillapalle, CEO, Renault India Operations, said.
He said the policy would help in significantly reducing pollution levels as also streamlining the unorganized and fragmented recycle market in India.
Sumit Issar, Mahindra Intertrade MD, said CERO is India's first government-authorized recycler for motor vehicles built on the PPP model. CERO is focused on achieving zero pollution while vehicle recycling. "We have state-of-the-art dismantling centers at Greater Noida, Pune, and Chennai and collection centers at Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh," he added.
