The much-awaited car from Skoda, the Kushaq today made it's global debut.
The event was hosted by Mr.Tarun Jha, Head of Marketing. He started off by stating, the term Kushaq: Derived from the Sanskrit language, which means King. He called it the world static premiere. The event was joined by the head of the brand, Head of Design, MD, and CEO.
The event coincides with 20 years of Skoda in India.
Mr. Thomas Schafer, the CEO of Skoda Auto, joined the launch via the web.
He did commit that Skoda has a promising future. In 2020 the company delivered about 1 million cars despite the pandemic challenges.

The India 2.0 project had started in 2018. Which was customized to the Indian strategy.
The plan is by 2050 when India becomes one of the youngest and most populous country and when the car market becomes 3rd largest by 2035, Skoda plans to be an important part of this Indian market. Hence, within 2 years of the India 2.0 project, this global event is planned for India. And the Indian market is where they want to build volumes with Kushaq.

MQB AO IN Platform is what is the next strategy for Skoda. This can accommodate a wide range of cars from different segments. This also helps boost features and great prices. This means Skoda will also give world-class products at great value buying.
He also mentioned, the Skoda Kushaq is with 95% localization. The car comes with two engines. This gives the SUV a wider range of options. The fastest-growing segment is where this car will be placed.
This car will be made for the world, in India.
Mr. Oliver, the head of design threw some light here. The car is inspired by India. It's varied traditions, the colours and culture.
This was merged with the Skoda heritage and crystal design language.
Tradition and Modern dynamism is the merged output of this design philosophy.
The car design is bold and muscular. And the premium European feel is present. The car looks spacious. The hi-tech with a touch of personal design.

The Skoda Kushaq claims to be a great offroader and city SUV. The two TSI 1 litre and 1.5 litre are localised. It claims to be the widest SUV in it's range.
The compact SUV is the start of the models' onslaught from Skoda for the Indian Market.
The car will be offered in five colors.
