Tata Punch recorded 21,320 units, up 99% from 10,704 units in August 2025. This translated into an additional 10,616 units, making Punch the largest contributor to Tata’s overall year-on-year volume increase.
Sequentially, dispatches were virtually unchanged from July’s 21,313 units. Punch alone accounted for approximately 32.7% of Tata’s August volumes, underlining its importance to the brand’s monthly performance.
Nexon retained second position within Tata’s portfolio with 18,431 units, growing 32% YoY and 5% MoM. Dispatches increased by 4,427 units over August 2025 and by 960 units over July 2026.
Tiago followed with 8,537 units, recording 63% YoY growth and a 15% sequential increase. Its month-on-month gain of 1,108 units was the highest absolute increase among Tata’s models, making it a significant driver of the company’s improvement over July.
Sierra ranked fourth with 5,622 units, contributing approximately 8.6% of Tata’s total dispatches. However, Sierra dispatches fell 11% from 6,327 units in July. It was the only model in Tata’s supplied lineup to record a month-on-month decline.
Harrier dispatches reached 3,577 units, increasing 16% YoY and 8% MoM.
Safari recorded 1,953 units, up 31% YoY. Its 34% month-on-month increase, from 1,453 units in July, was the strongest sequential percentage growth in Tata’s portfolio.
Curvv also improved on both comparisons, with 1,904 units, representing 12% growth year-on-year and month-on-month.
Altroz dispatched 3,047 units, down 23% from 3,959 units in August 2025. It was the only Tata model to record a year-on-year decline, although its 6% improvement over July provided some sequential recovery.
Tigor finished the month at 862 units, registering 7% YoY growth and a 14% increase over July’s 758 units.

Auto Punditz Take
Tata’s August performance combines a substantial year-on-year expansion with a more measured sequential improvement. Punch and Nexon remain the volume anchors, while Tiago’s strong contribution demonstrates that growth extended beyond the leading two models.
The portfolio also showed broad sequential improvement: eight of the nine models increased dispatches over July, although Punch was effectively flat. Sierra’s decline and Altroz’s year-on-year shortfall remain the key areas to watch. With dispatches measuring shipments to dealers, retail registrations will provide the next indication of how these volumes translate into customer deliveries.
