Hero Splendor continues its dominance over Honda Activa and emerges as the best-selling Two Wheeler for FY2021. Also, only scooters fare in the list of top 10 selling Two Wheelers (Activa & Jupiter).
Top 10 selling Two Wheelers for Financial Year 2021 (Apr'20 to Mar'21) –
Hero Splendor was India’s highest-selling two-wheeler for the previous financial year. Hero has been able to cash in the rural market upswing and its Splendor has been consistently ranking as the No.1 Two Wheeler month after month.
Activa ranked second in the list and degrew the highest in FY2021. The model sales fell -25% YoY and the gap has also grown substantially with Splendor. Activa sales were over 5.2 Lakh units lesser than Splendor in FY2021.
Hero HF Deluxe ranked third on the list with sales of over 16.6L units in FY2021. However; the model registered a YoY fall of -19% and the volumes dropped below 20 Lakh units in FY2021.
Honda’s CB Shine rank emerged fourth in the list and sold 9.88 Lakh units in FY2021. It was one of the few models to report a YoY growth in FY2021. It also highlights Honda's increasing focus on the Motorcycle segment.
Bajaj Pulsar had an 11% YoY growth and was India's fifth best-selling two-wheeler for FY2021. The model registered the highest YoY growth in the Top 10 models.
India’s only Moped – TVS XL is still doing steady volumes and was India’s 6th best-selling two-wheeler for FY2021! The model had a flat growth even in a tough year.
Jupiter was TVS Motor's best-selling scooter for FY2021 and ranked seventh in the Top 10 list. Only two scooters (Activa and Jupiter) could fare in the Top 10 chart.
Hero's strength in motorcycles is clearly visible with 4 motorcycles in the Top 10 - Splendor, HF Deluxe, Passion, and Glamour!
Platina was the second highest-selling Bajaj model for FY2021 and ended up tenth in the Top 10 selling two-wheelers list. The model however degrew -22% YoY.
