Auto Punditz Insights
June 2026 highlights an increasingly competitive Indian two-wheeler market. While overall industry volumes remained healthy with nearly 19% annual growth, leadership dynamics continue to evolve.
Hero MotoCorp remains the market leader but is steadily surrendering share. Honda is closing the gap, while TVS has emerged as the biggest success story of the month with strong gains across multiple segments. At the same time, premium motorcycles and electric scooters continue to grow significantly faster than the overall market, indicating a gradual shift in consumer preferences toward premiumisation and electrification.
If these trends continue through the festive season, the second half of FY27 could witness one of the closest battles yet among India's top two-wheeler manufacturers.
