Škoda India crosses the 10,000 bookings mark for the Kushaq!

Škoda India has achieved the milestone of 10,000 bookings for the Kushaq. The mid-sized SUV has bolstered the growth for Škoda India. Witnessing the demand from the customers, Škoda will be equipping the automatic STYLE variants with 6 airbags (both 1.0L and 1.5L) and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) at an incremental cost of approximately 40,000.

Mr. Zac Hollis, Brand Director – ŠKODA AUTO India, said, “Despite unprecedented pressures caused by the coronavirus pandemic and the supply challenges, we are delighted to announce that we have crossed the 10,000 bookings milestone for the SKODA KUSHAQ. The KUSHAQ was made keeping in mind what matters most to customers, and it is a matter of pride for us that the car is finding its way to many Indian homes. 2021 is special for us because we complete two decades of operations in the country. We have been successful in providing an unparalleled value luxury proposition and the launch of KUSHAQ has really accelerated the ambitions of the ŠKODA brand in India. We are looking forward to some exciting times ahead, as we continue to move forward in this dynamic automotive market.”

Škoda India is also celebrating 20 years of existence in the Indian market. The story for the company began when it established the first factory in Aurangabad and launched the OCTAVIA. Tasting instant success with the OCTAVIA, the company introduced further products from its global portfolio in the country like the SUPERB and LAURA. Furthermore, the company inaugurated the Pune production facility in 2008, which gave birth to another product in the form of the FABIA. The products that followed included the YETI and RAPID in 2010 and 2011 respectively. In 2017, Škoda India launched the KODIAQ and continued to attract customers. The company also launched the OCTAVIA vRS in limited numbers, but it sold out in quick time. In 2020, Škoda India introduced the KAROQ and in 2021, the company launched the KUSHAQ as the first car under the India 2.0 Project.
