TVS Motor and Bajaj Auto together accounted for over half of India's provisional electric two-wheeler registrations in August 2026, signalling a major shift towards established OEMs as Ather emerges as the strongest challenger.

Bajaj Chetak has crossed 50,000 customers in Kerala while expanding its sales and service footprint to 103 touchpoints across the state, highlighting the electric scooter brand's growing penetration in regional EV markets.

Bajaj Auto’s May 2026 two-wheeler sales stood at 2,09,528 units, up 9% YoY. Chetak Electric emerged as a major growth driver with 38,376 units, while Pulsar 160/200 NS and Pulsar 220 delivered strong gains. However, commuter motorcycles such as Pulsar 125, CT 100 and Freedom remained under pressure.
