According to a report by Autocar, Honda will keep the current-gen City on sale along with the next-generation model. The Honda City is up for a major update and gets just enough changes to qualify for a generation change. According to the source, Honda will maintain a price difference of about Rs. 30 – 40,000. between the two Honda Cities. The older City could get a suffix to differentiate it. Honda is not likely to sell it for commercial use to fleet and taxi owners as it’ll dilute the ‘City’ brand. City is after all the only successful car in Honda’s portfolio. However, the carmaker will look at each commercial requirement and decide on a case-by-case basis.

Once again, and for the first time since the virus outbreak, Maruti Suzuki’s electric WagonR was spotted testing on public roads. Early this year, a close look at the test car revealed that it’s an electric car with split headlamp setup in WagonR’s shell. However, Maruti Suzuki didn’t have anything like that at the 2020 Auto Expo. Rumours suggest that it’s the premium version of the WagonR, which could end up in Nexa with the XL5 moniker. The Ertiga also got a similar treatment in the form of Nexa-exclusive XL6. For now, it’s a game of wait and watch.
The camouflaged Vitara Brezza accompanying the two electric WagonRs could be the hybrid version with the manual transmission. Currently, the Vitara Brezza’s 1.5-litre mild-hybrid tech is only available with the automatic transmission.

Jeep just confirmed to Evo that Jeep is bringing in a 7-seat version of the Compass. It could go on sale as the Grand Compass in India early in by mid-2021. The Compass will get a facelift early in 2021. The Grand Compass is likely to go up against the 7-seat full-size SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan All-Space. The MG Gloster is also in line to join these cars.

A sub-compact SUV is also in the pipeline. Instead of a chopped off Renegade, Jeep will most likely bring a brand new vehicle, which will slot below the Renegade. Phew! that’s a lot of cars in a single segment.
