Mahindra Car Sales Analysis – February 2026: Scorpio Leads as Brand Records 19% YoY Growth

Mahindra & Mahindra delivered a strong performance in February 2026, recording 60,018 units in domestic sales, reflecting a healthy 19% year-on-year growth compared to 50,420 units sold in February 2025.
However, on a month-on-month basis, the company saw a slight dip in dispatches of 5% compared to 63,510 units in January 2026, indicating a mild slowdown after a strong start to the year.
Mahindra’s growth continues to be powered by its SUV-focused portfolio, with models like the Mahindra Scorpio, Mahindra Thar, and Mahindra XUV 3XO delivering strong volumes.

Scorpio Retains the Crown
The Mahindra Scorpio remained Mahindra’s best-selling model, recording 14,665 units in February 2026, an 8% YoY growth over the 13,618 units sold during the same month last year.
The Scorpio lineup, including the Scorpio-N and Classic, continues to enjoy strong demand thanks to its rugged positioning and strong brand loyalty.
Thar Continues Its Strong Momentum
The Mahindra Thar posted impressive growth, selling 11,047 units, a 19% increase YoY compared to 9,248 units in February 2025.
The Thar remains one of the most aspirational lifestyle SUVs in India and continues to attract younger buyers looking for off-road capability combined with modern features.
Bolero and XUV 3XO Deliver Stable Volumes
The Mahindra Bolero recorded 9,863 units, growing 13% YoY, reinforcing its continued popularity in rural and semi-urban markets.
Meanwhile, the Mahindra XUV 3XO sold 8,637 units, marking a 10% YoY increase over February 2025. The model continues to compete strongly in the highly competitive sub-4 metre SUV segment.
New Models Add to Mahindra’s Growth
Two newer models played an important role in February’s performance.
Mahindra XUV 7XO registered 9,112 units, indicating strong early demand.
The Mahindra 9S also contributed 3,539 units during the month.

Mahindra XUV400 saw a sharp decline, dropping 50% YoY to 162 units.
