Maruti Suzuki India is set to achieve a historic milestone today as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi jointly inaugurate the company’s fourth vehicle manufacturing facility at IMT Kharkhoda, Haryana. The inauguration will take place during the India-Japan Joint Economic Forum in New Delhi, underlining the strengthening strategic and industrial partnership between the two nations.
The Kharkhoda facility is one of the largest manufacturing investments in India’s automotive sector and represents Maruti Suzuki’s long-term vision of expanding production capacity while embracing advanced manufacturing and sustainability.

Spread across 800 acres with an integrated supplier park, the Kharkhoda plant has been designed to become one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturing facilities.
At full capacity, the plant will:
Produce 10 lakh vehicles annually
Help Maruti Suzuki move towards its 40 lakh annual production capacity target
Represent a total investment of over ₹35,000 crore (including supplier ecosystem)
Generate over 21,000 direct jobs
Strengthen India’s position as a global automotive manufacturing hub

Maruti Suzuki has developed the Kharkhoda facility around its “Suzuki Smart Factory” concept, incorporating next-generation manufacturing technologies.
