Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gorkha Edition Launched at ₹2.11 Lakh – Military-Inspired Special Edition Arrives

Royal Enfield has expanded the Classic 350 lineup with the launch of the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition, priced at ₹2,10,684 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Introduced as a tribute to the legacy, courage and traditions of the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army, the special edition brings a distinctive military-inspired visual identity to Royal Enfield’s hugely popular retro roadster.

Bookings for the new Classic 350 Gorkha Edition opened on August 18, 2026.

Classic 350 Gets the Gorkha Treatment

The biggest differentiator for the new edition is its exclusive Gorkha Green paint scheme.

Royal Enfield has complemented the military-inspired colour with special detailing, including an insignia depicting the iconic crossed Khukris, instantly distinguishing the Gorkha Edition from the regular Classic 350 range.

The motorcycle continues with the familiar Classic silhouette comprising the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round headlamp, broad mudguards and upright riding position.

Chrome elements have also been retained on areas such as the engine casing, exhaust and wire-spoke wheels, providing a contrast to the understated green bodywork.

Familiar 349cc J-Series Engine Continues

Underneath its new appearance, the Gorkha Edition remains mechanically familiar.

It is powered by Royal Enfield's 349cc single-cylinder, air-cooled J-series engine, which develops approximately 20.2 PS and 27 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

There has consequently been no attempt to turn the Gorkha Edition into a performance-focused derivative. The emphasis remains on the relaxed power delivery and easy-going character associated with the Classic 350.

This should also make the Gorkha Edition familiar territory for existing Classic riders, while giving prospective customers another visually differentiated option.

Assist & Slipper Clutch and Type-C Charging

The Gorkha Edition also benefits from the upgrades introduced on the updated 2026 Classic 350.

An assist and slipper clutch is offered, along with a USB Type-C fast-charging port. The slipper clutch can help reduce the effects of aggressive downshifts while also improving clutch operation, while the Type-C port adds a useful everyday convenience feature.

These aren't exclusive mechanical upgrades for the Gorkha Edition, however. Royal Enfield had already incorporated them into the updated Classic 350 range earlier in 2026.

Gorkha-Inspired Riding Gear and Merchandise

Royal Enfield is extending the theme beyond the motorcycle itself with a dedicated Gorkha Collection.

The accompanying range includes riding and lifestyle merchandise inspired by regimental colours and motifs, helping Royal Enfield position the launch as a broader lifestyle offering rather than simply another new Classic 350 colour.

That strategy fits particularly well with the Classic 350, where heritage, personalisation and visual identity have traditionally been important factors in the purchasing decision.

Classic 350 Lineup Continues to Expand

The Classic remains one of Royal Enfield's most recognisable motorcycles, and the Gorkha Edition offers the company another way of widening its appeal without changing the underlying mechanical package.

Rather than chasing additional output or adding major hardware, Royal Enfield has used colour, symbolism and detailing to create a differentiated model.

At ₹2.11 lakh ex-showroom, the Gorkha Edition sits around the middle of the wider Classic 350 range rather than being positioned as an ultra-premium limited edition.

AutoPunditz Take

The Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is fundamentally a design-led addition rather than a new mechanical variant, but that's precisely where its appeal is likely to lie.

The combination of the muted Gorkha Green paint, crossed Khukri graphics and traditional chrome detailing gives the Classic a distinctive personality without disturbing the formula that has made the motorcycle successful.

Royal Enfield has also been clever with the pricing. At approximately ₹2.11 lakh ex-showroom, buyers aren't being asked to pay an extreme premium purely for the special-edition identity.

For riders already considering a Classic 350 but wanting something less commonplace than the regular colour options, the Gorkha Edition could therefore emerge as one of the more interesting choices in the lineup.

More importantly, it shows how Royal Enfield continues to extract new themes and identities from the Classic platform while retaining its core 349cc J-series mechanical package.
