Passenger Vehicle despatches recorded an all-time high in Sep'22 and crossed the 3.5L mark for the first time ever! The OEMs have been riding on the high demand of the ongoing festive season and the easing semiconductor supplies supported the production ramp-up.
Around 3,54,702 passenger cars were sold in the Indian market for September 2022. The sales increased by over 89% when compared to September last year and The industry moved up by 8.1% in comparison to August 2022. It also crossed the 3 Lakh dispatch figure for the sixth month in this calendar year.
September 2022 marked the launch of Nexa's Grand Vitara and Toyota's Hyryder. Both models will enter the highly competitive Mid SUV space and will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, etc. Do note that near to 6,000 units of Grand Vitara & Hyryder were despatched in September 2022 and are ready to fight head-on with the competition models.
Maruti Suzuki reported YoY growth of 135% and gained Market Share. However; Maruti's Market Share remains at just near 42%.
Hyundai was just 2k units ahead of Tata and the gap in Market Share was a meager 0.6%.
Tata Motors reported overall dispatches of 47,655 units in September 2022 which was its highest ever monthly sales! The EV dispatches were 3,655 units and grew by 239% over September 2021.
M&M reported YoY growth of 166% and strengthened its position in the fourth spot. The launch of Scorpio-N has further strengthened Mahindra's position.
Kia India grew over 79% YoY and recorded its highest ever monthly volumes! Seltos led the monthly volumes with 11,000 units, followed by Sonet at 9,291 units, Carens at 5,233 units, and Carnival at 333 units respectively.
