Skoda Auto India has opened bookings for the upcoming Kodiaq RS, bringing the performance-focused version of its flagship SUV closer to launch. The Kodiaq RS will sit above the standard Kodiaq and is expected to appeal to buyers looking for a premium three-row SUV with stronger performance, sportier styling, and limited-run exclusivity.
The Kodiaq RS will be offered in four exterior colour options at launch — Velvet Red, Steel Grey, Moon White, and Magic Black. Velvet Red is likely to be the highlight shade, underlining the RS badge’s performance-oriented positioning.

Performance-Oriented Flagship SUV
The Skoda Kodiaq RS will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
The SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds, with a claimed top speed of 231 km/h. This makes it significantly more powerful and quicker than the standard Kodiaq sold in India.
Sportier RS Design Package
The RS variant will receive several visual upgrades over the regular Kodiaq. These include RS-specific bumpers, gloss black exterior highlights, an illuminated grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, and RS badging.
Inside, the Kodiaq RS is expected to feature a sportier black-themed cabin with RS-specific upholstery, contrast stitching, digital instrumentation, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and premium comfort features.
Limited CBU Import Strategy
The Kodiaq RS will be brought to India as a Completely Built Unit, which means availability is expected to be limited. Skoda has previously used a similar strategy for performance models such as the Octavia RS, creating strong enthusiast interest around limited allocations.
Pricing has not been announced yet, but the Kodiaq RS is expected to command a premium over the standard Kodiaq. With the regular Kodiaq already positioned in the premium SUV space, the RS variant could be priced in the ₹50 lakh–₹60 lakh range, ex-showroom.
Why It Matters
The Kodiaq RS adds an enthusiast-focused option to India’s premium SUV market. While most three-row SUVs focus on comfort, road presence, and practicality, the Kodiaq RS brings performance credentials into the mix.
Its combination of 265 hp power, AWD, DSG gearbox, sporty styling, and limited availability could make it attractive for buyers who want a practical family SUV without giving up driving excitement.
The Skoda Kodiaq RS is not expected to be a volume product, but it plays an important role in strengthening Skoda’s performance image in India. The RS badge already enjoys a strong recall among enthusiasts, and applying it to a premium SUV gives Skoda a unique proposition.
With four colour choices, a powerful 2.0 TSI engine, AWD, and a limited CBU strategy, the Kodiaq RS could become one of the most desirable Skoda models in India for performance-focused SUV buyers.
