Suzuki Motorcycle India posted total dispatches of 98,004 units in May 2026, registering a modest 3% year-on-year growth over 95,214 units sold in May 2025. However, on a month-on-month basis, Suzuki volumes declined 7% from 1,05,398 units in April 2026, indicating some moderation after a stronger previous month.
The brand’s performance continued to be heavily driven by its scooter portfolio, especially the Suzuki Access, which remained the company’s largest-selling model by a wide margin.

The Suzuki Access retained its position as the brand’s core volume driver with 70,339 units dispatched in May 2026. The scooter grew 8% year-on-year compared to 65,107 units in May 2025. Despite the annual growth, Access sales declined 3% month-on-month from 72,658 units in April 2026. Even with this slight sequential drop, the Access alone contributed over 71% of Suzuki’s overall domestic two-wheeler dispatches, underlining its importance in the company’s portfolio.
Suzuki’s electric scooter, the e-Access, recorded 702 units in May 2026. While there is no year-on-year base for comparison, the model saw a sharp 466% month-on-month increase from 124 units in April 2026.
The Suzuki Burgman witnessed a decline in May 2026, with dispatches falling to 19,337 units. This was a 16% year-on-year drop from 23,050 units sold in May 2025.
The decline was sharper on a sequential basis, with Burgman sales falling 28% month-on-month from 26,889 units in April 2026. The premium scooter segment continues to see strong competition, and Burgman’s performance in May reflected some pressure in this space.
The Suzuki Avenis delivered 5,805 units in May 2026, growing 2% year-on-year from 5,698 units in May 2025. More notably, the model posted a strong 57% month-on-month jump over 3,691 units in April 2026. This made Avenis one of Suzuki’s better-performing models on a sequential basis. The improvement could indicate better supply, retail push, or renewed demand in the sporty scooter category.
The Gixxer 250 sold just 40 units, though it grew 21% year-on-year from a low base of 33 units. Sequentially, however, it declined 18% from 49 units in April 2026.
The V-Strom SX was the standout motorcycle performer in percentage terms, with 776 units dispatched in May 2026. It grew strongly by 186% year-on-year from 271 units, although it was down 8% month-on-month from 840 units.
The Hayabusa registered 20 units, a steep 69% year-on-year decline from 64 units and a 52% month-on-month decline from 42 units.
The DL800DEÂ recorded 6 units, down 45% month-on-month, while the GSX-8RÂ saw dispatches of just 2 units.

Key Takeaways
Suzuki’s May 2026 performance was steady on a year-on-year basis but weaker sequentially. The brand remained highly dependent on the Access, which continued to dominate its sales mix. The e-Access showed encouraging early momentum, while Avenis delivered a strong month-on-month rebound.
However, Burgman’s decline and the limited contribution from motorcycles highlight the brand’s continued dependence on scooters. Going forward, Suzuki’s ability to expand its EV volumes and strengthen its motorcycle portfolio will be important for reducing reliance on the Access-led scooter business.
Overall, Suzuki ended May 2026 with 98,004 units, up 3% YoY but down 7% MoM, reflecting a stable but scooter-heavy performance.
