Yamaha India recorded domestic dispatches of 67,988 units in May 2026, registering a strong 45% year-on-year growthover 46,826 units in May 2025. The brand’s performance was primarily supported by healthy demand for the Fascino, R15, FZ and the newly added XSR, while the Ray scooter remained Yamaha’s highest-selling model for the month.
However, on a month-on-month basis, Yamaha’s dispatches declined by 12%, compared to 76,909 units in April 2026. The sequential drop was largely due to lower dispatches of the Ray, MT-15, Aerox and EC06.

The Yamaha FZ was the brand’s best-selling motorcycle in May 2026 with 15,729 units dispatched. The model posted a 17% YoY growth over 13,482 units sold in May 2025.
FZ dispatches declined 9% compared to 17,227 units in April 2026. Even with the MoM drop, the FZ continued to play a key role in Yamaha’s motorcycle portfolio, contributing nearly one-fourth of total brand volumes.
The Yamaha R15 delivered one of the strongest performances in the brand’s portfolio. Dispatches stood at 9,066 units, up 85% YoY from 4,908 units in May 2025.
The R15 also improved 11% MoM over 8,133 units in April 2026, making it one of the few Yamaha models to show sequential growth during the month. Its performance underlines the sustained demand for entry-level performance motorcycles in India.
The Yamaha Fascino recorded 10,430 units in May 2026, growing 84% YoY from 5,678 units in May 2025. The scooter also registered a strong 56% MoM growth over 6,671 units in April 2026.
The Yamaha XSR contributed 6,914 units in May 2026. Since there was no comparable volume in May 2025, the model added incremental strength to Yamaha’s motorcycle portfolio. Month-on-month, XSR dispatches were nearly flat compared to 6,948 units in April 2026, indicating stable demand.
The Yamaha MT-15 recorded 6,741 units in May 2026, down 4% YoY from 7,025 units in May 2025. The model also declined 28% MoM from 9,343 units in April 2026.

The Yamaha EC06 e-scooter recorded 102 units in May 2026, down 56% MoM from 232 units in April 2026. The volumes remain limited, indicating that Yamaha’s electric scooter presence is still at a nascent stage.
The Yamaha R3 recorded zero dispatches during the month, compared to 66 units in May 2025.

Key Takeaways
Yamaha’s May 2026 performance was marked by strong annual growth, with total dispatches rising 45% YoY. The Ray, FZ, Fascino and R15 were the main volume drivers, while the XSR added incremental strength to the motorcycle portfolio.
The biggest positives were the R15’s 85% YoY growth, Fascino’s 84% YoY growth, and the stable contribution from the FZ. At the same time, the 12% MoM decline suggests that Yamaha saw some moderation after a stronger April 2026, especially in Ray, MT-15, Aerox and EC06 dispatches.
Overall, Yamaha’s May 2026 performance reflects a stronger year-on-year base, with motorcycles continuing to anchor the brand’s volumes and scooters providing meaningful support.
