Top 25 Best-Selling Cars in India – March 2026

Maruti Suzuki Dzire emerges as the best-selling car in April 2026, clocking 21,224 units, up 37% YoY. The sedan continues to defy the SUV wave, driven by its strong fleet demand and fuel efficiency. Close behind are Tata’s SUV twins: Punch at 20,977 units (+18% YoY) and Nexon at 19,810 units (+21% YoY). These models highlight Tata’s continued dominance in the compact SUV space.

SUVs account for a significant majority of the Top 25 list:

• Hyundai Creta (17,838 units) saw a slight dip (-1%)

• Maruti Brezza (16,130 units) declined by 3%

• Strong growth from newer and refreshed models:

  • Kia Sonet: +56%

  • Kia Seltos: +69%

  • Toyota Hyryder: +93%

Mahindra’s lineup also remains solid with Scorpio, Thar, Bolero, XUV 3XO, and XUV 7XO all featuring in the list.

Maruti continues its volume leadership with multiple entries - Ertiga (17,072) and Baleno (16,392) perform strongly, Swift (-18%) and Wagon R (-1%) show signs of slowdown, Fronx (+14%) and Alto (+17%) maintain growth momentum.

New models/facelifts like Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Mahindra XUV 7XO, Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra have made it to the Top 25, indicating fresh demand pockets and successful launches.
