Auto Punditz Analysis
September 2026 was strong for India’s tractor industry, with retail registrations expanding nearly 14% year-on-year.
Growth was broad-based among leading manufacturers. International Tractors and John Deere recorded over 25% growth, while both Mahindra businesses grew ahead of the overall market.
Mahindra’s combined 41.87% share reinforces its dominant position. International Tractors’ rising share and John Deere’s strength in premium segments are notable developments.
The contraction in the “Others” category indicates demand was concentrated among established manufacturers.
Agricultural activity, rural cash flows, crop output, festive demand, and replacement cycles will determine if the double-digit momentum continues.
