Two Wheeler Sales saw an upward trend in March 2021 and stood at 14,96,806 units up 72.7 percent over 8,66,845 units sold in March 2020. While March 2020 could not be taken into consideration due to the BS-VI transition and in the same month a nationwide lockdown was announced in view of the COVID-19 pandemic; Two Wheeler sales recorded a 4.9 percent increase in March 2021 against March 2020.
OEM wise Sales Snapshot –
Hero MotoCorp reported a 71.9 percent growth, from to 5,44,320 units last month up from 3,16,685 units sold in March 2020. Month-on-Month sales also grew significantly by 12.4 percent as against 4,84,405 units sold in Feb 2021. The company commanded a 36.37 percent market share.
Honda sales increased 60.8 percent YoY from 2,45,716 units sold in March 2020 to 3,95,037 units sold in March 2021. MoM sales dipped 4 percent from 4,11,622 units sold in February 2021. It lost the highest Market Share in March 2021.
TVS Motor Company sales increased significantly YoY by 114.8 percent to 2,02,155 units, up from 94,103 units sold in March 2020. The company commanded a market share of 13.51 percent. MoM sales increased by 3.6 percent from 1,95,145 units sold in Feb 21.
Bajaj Auto sales increased 84.3 percent to 1,81,393 units in March 2021, which was up from 98,412 units sold in March 2020 while February 2021 sales were at 1,48,934 units accounting for 21.8 percent Month-on-Month sales increase.
Royal Enfield posted an 84.4% increase in terms of YoY sales at 60,173 units, while MoM sales dipped 7.6 percent.
