Volkswagen India Sales Report – April 2026

Volkswagen India reported total domestic sales of 2,828 units in April 2026, witnessing a marginal 1% year-on-year (YoY) decline compared to 2,851 units sold in April 2025. On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales also declined 8% from 3,082 units recorded in March 2026.
Volkswagen Taigun remained Volkswagen India’s highest-selling model with 1,543 units sold in April 2026. The SUV registered a healthy 34% YoY growth and an impressive 70% MoM increase, making it Volkswagen’s strongest-performing product during the month. The recent update helped the model gain volumes.
The Volkswagen Virtus recorded sales of 1,162 units, declining sharply by 28% YoY and 42% MoM.
Volkswagen Tayron recorded 87 units in April 2026. While there is no YoY comparison due to the model being new, Tayron sales declined 28% MoM.
Volkswagen Tiguan sold only 34 units in April 2026, declining sharply by 63% YoY and 19% MoM.
The iconic Volkswagen Golf recorded just 2 units in April 2026, with volumes declining 33% MoM.
