Bajaj Auto posted 2,10,063 units in April 2026, registering an 11% year-on-year growth over 1,88,615 units sold in April 2025. However, compared to March 2026, when Bajaj sold 2,21,021 units, the company saw a 5% month-on-month decline.
The growth was mainly supported by a strong performance from the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter, the Pulsar 160 + 200 NS range, Pulsar 220, and premium motorcycle brands like KTM and Triumph.

Pulsar 125 — 71,350 units (−10% YoY): Bajaj's highest-volume model despite a YoY dip. The Pulsar 125 remains the backbone of the brand's commuter motorcycle business, contributing the single largest chunk of monthly sales. An 8% MoM gain over March's 65,898 units suggests short-term demand is recovering well.
Pulsar 160+200 NS — 36,198 units (+46% YoY): A standout performer in the mid-range motorcycle space. The 46% YoY surge is impressive and reflects strong consumer upgrade appetite in the 160–200cc segment. However, a 14% MoM dip from March's 41,980 units is worth watching.
Chetak Electric — 34,304 units (+79% YoY): Bajaj's EV flagship is firing on all cylinders. A near-doubling of April 2025's 19,216 units makes the Chetak one of India's best-selling electric scooters. The MoM figure is virtually flat vs March's 34,416 — showing strong, stable demand rather than a one-month spike.
Platina — 24,737 units (−17% YoY): Bajaj's entry-level commuter motorcycle is under pressure, slipping both YoY and 25% MoM from March's 32,822 units. Increased competition in the budget commuter space from Hero's Splendor and HF Deluxe is likely squeezing volumes.
Pulsar 220 — 10,494 units (+138% YoY): The most dramatic growth story in Bajaj's top 5. A 138% YoY jump from just 4,400 units in April 2025 signals a strong revival of the iconic 220cc nameplate, possibly aided by a refreshed variant or aggressive pricing. A steady 5% MoM gain adds further confidence.
Bajaj’s April 2026 performance was positive on a year-on-year basis, helped by the strong rise of Chetak EV, healthy demand for the Pulsar 160/200 NS, and a sharp recovery in Pulsar 220 sales. However, the company faced sequential pressure as overall dispatches declined 5% MoM, mainly due to lower sales in commuter motorcycles and select premium models.
Overall, Bajaj’s portfolio continues to shift towards a stronger mix of EVs, sporty Pulsars, and premium motorcycles, while its traditional commuter motorcycles saw softer demand in April 2026.
