Hero MotoCorp has announced a cumulative investment roadmap of over ₹3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing, logistics and electric mobility footprint in the state. The company has also broken ground for its second Global Parts Centre in Tirupati, which alone will involve an investment of over ₹750 crore.
The foundation stone ceremony was held on July 1, 2026, in Tirupati, with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in attendance. The announcement also coincided with the 103rd birth anniversary of Hero MotoCorp founder and Chairman Emeritus Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal.
Tirupati to Become a Key Mobility and Logistics Hub
The upcoming Global Parts Centre will act as a strategic hub for Hero MotoCorp’s domestic and international spare parts operations. This is significant because Hero’s scale is not limited to vehicle manufacturing alone; after-sales, spare parts availability and export supply chains are critical to maintaining customer confidence across both Indian and global markets.
Hero MotoCorp has stated that the investment will strengthen its global supply chain and support its “Made in India, for India and the World” approach. The facility is expected to enhance parts distribution efficiency and support the company’s expanding footprint across domestic and overseas markets.
Major Boost for Hero’s EV Ambitions
The investment also has a strong electric mobility angle. Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that 100% of its electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered and manufactured at its Tirupati plant. With the new investment roadmap, the plant’s annual production capacity is expected to scale up to around 1.2–1.5 million units.
This makes Tirupati one of the most important locations in Hero MotoCorp’s future mobility strategy. The company’s VIDA electric scooter range is still in the early stages of market expansion, but a stronger manufacturing and parts ecosystem could help Hero improve product availability, service reach and long-term EV ownership confidence.
Around 4,000 Jobs Expected
Hero MotoCorp says the expansion is expected to generate around 4,000 employment opportunities in the region. The company has positioned the investment as part of Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth story and aligned it with broader development goals such as Viksit Bharat 2047 and the state’s SwarnAndhra vision.
For Andhra Pradesh, this is another important automotive investment in the Tirupati-Sri City industrial belt. The region has been steadily emerging as a manufacturing destination, helped by infrastructure, port connectivity, industrial parks and state-level investment push.
Scholarship and Community Mobility Initiatives
Alongside the industrial investment, Hero MotoCorp has also announced two community-focused initiatives in partnership with the Andhra Pradesh government. The “Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship” will support meritorious students pursuing engineering degrees at state IIITs across 28 districts by providing full tuition coverage.
The company will also deploy VIDA electric scooters and provide road safety training to women police personnel in Tirupati district. This initiative combines women empowerment, road safety and sustainable mobility under one programme.
Why This Investment Matters
Hero MotoCorp remains one of India’s most influential two-wheeler manufacturers, but the industry is changing quickly. Electric mobility, export-led growth, premium motorcycles, faster spare parts availability and stronger after-sales support are becoming increasingly important.
The new Global Parts Centre can help Hero improve logistics efficiency, reduce turnaround time for spare parts and support international markets more effectively. At the same time, scaling the Tirupati plant’s capacity gives Hero a stronger foundation for its EV ambitions, especially as competition in the electric two-wheeler space intensifies.
Hero MotoCorp’s broader EV strategy includes VIDA, its strategic alliance with Zero Motorcycles for electric motorcycles, and investments in EV players such as Ather Energy and Euler Motors.

Auto Punditz Take
Hero MotoCorp’s ₹3,200 crore-plus Andhra Pradesh investment is more than just a capacity expansion announcement. It signals the company’s intent to build a future-ready manufacturing, EV and spare parts ecosystem around Tirupati.
For Hero, the real challenge will be execution. The company already has massive scale in ICE two-wheelers, but EVs require a different playbook — faster product development, stronger software-led ownership experience, reliable charging access, and consistent after-sales support. A dedicated global parts hub and expanded manufacturing base can give Hero the operational strength it needs, but the success of this investment will ultimately depend on how quickly it translates into stronger VIDA volumes, improved service confidence and wider market reach.
With Andhra Pradesh positioning itself as a serious automotive and mobility manufacturing hub, Hero’s latest move could further strengthen the state’s role in India’s next phase of two-wheeler and EV growth.
