Royal Enfield, a unit of Eicher Motors, registered a total volume of 5,73,438 units for the financial year 2021. If we compare this with the last financial year, the volumes stood at 6,56,665. The degrowth in volumes stood at 83,213 units.
However, all is not gloomy at RE. We have the Meteor 350, which registered a handsome volume of 39,893. And also the Twinspark Electra did manage to grow marginally with 50,579 numbers. The growth of Electra Twinspark stood at about 5,034 units.
However, the bulk of the volumes continue to come from the classic 350, which sold about 3,61, 140 units for the entire year. This, however, was a drop of about 37,004 units. The bullet 350 managed to touch close to a lakh unit and registered 98,008 units volume. The third motorcycle to touch 50,000+ units was the Electra twin spark with 50,579 units.
The other two motorcycles registered a drop in volume. The Himalayan stood at 13,562 units a drop of about 1,740 and 650 twin stood at 10,256 units, which also saw a drop in volume, the drop was about 9,932 units.
We also saw 4 models being shelved by RE in the year FY2021. The Thunderbird 500, Bullet 500, Classic 500 and Thunderbird 350 had zero volumes in the FY 2021.
