Top 10 Selling Cars in India for April 2021 - Wagon R tops the list!
Maruti Suzuki Wagon R emerged as India's best-selling car for the first time in 2021! It outsold the likes of Swift, Alto, and Baleno to become the No.1 Car in April 2021. As usual, 7 out of the Top 10 cars came from Maruti Suzuki’s stable. Also, 3 Hyundai models fared in the list.

Maruti's Wagon-R dethroned the siblings Swift and Alto to take the Top Slot in model-wise rank for April 2021. We recently shared the success of Wagon R CNG variants and how it emerged as the best-selling CNG car in India too (source).
March 2021's bestseller Swift slipped to the second rank in April 2021 and the model volumes fell over 15 percent when compared to March 2021. Swift has been the consistent top performer in the Indian market and the recent updates too helped the model sustain volumes.
Alto slipped from the Numero Uno position in Jan'21 to the fourth rank in Feb'21 and Mar'21. It anyhow hopped to the third position in Apr'21 and recorded flat growth over Mar'21.
Maruti Nexa Baleno ranked fourth on the list with dispatches of 16,384 units. The model recorded the highest decline in the Top 10 when compared to Mar'21 volumes. New Swift effect?
Maruti Dzire was able to oust Creta from the fifth spot and grew the highest MoM in April 2021. The model volumes dipped post-Maruti's exit from the Diesel segment. However; it is leaving no stone unturned to regain volumes for the model.
Hyundai's Creta ranked sixth in the table and became the best-selling SUV for April 2021!
Grand i10 Nios fared well and grew a healthy 4.7 percent on Apr'21 vs Mar'21 and emerged seventh in the ranking table.
Eeco has been a consistent model in the Top 10 list and again fares in the eighth spot in the ranking table.
Hyundai Venue was ahead of Maruti's Brezza Venue by just 25 units and became the highest-selling Sub-4m Compact SUV of April 2021.
Maruti Vitara Brezza ranked 10th with dispatches of 11,220 units and flat MoM growth.
