Haryana-based electric two- and three-wheeler manufacturer Zelio E-Mobility is preparing for its next phase of growth with a significant hiring push across manufacturing, R&D, sales and after-sales functions.
Zelio E-Mobility has announced plans to more than double its workforce during the current financial year, with the company aiming to take its total employee strength beyond 500. The expansion comes as the EV manufacturer scales up its operations across its key manufacturing locations in Hisar, Bhubaneswar and Coimbatore.
At present, Zelio employs around 260 people across these locations. As part of the new hiring roadmap, the company plans to add around 100 employees in Hisar, 50 in Bhubaneswar and another 100 in Coimbatore. The Coimbatore facility, which is Zelio’s latest manufacturing set-up, is expected to account for a major share of the upcoming hiring as it moves towards commissioning and scale-up.

Focus on Manufacturing, R&D and Sales Expansion
The hiring plan is not limited to shopfloor expansion alone. Zelio is looking to strengthen multiple core functions, including plant leadership, research and development, production planning, quality control and zonal sales leadership.
This indicates that the company is preparing for a broader operational scale-up rather than a narrow capacity addition. With India’s electric two-wheeler and low-speed mobility segments becoming increasingly competitive, building stronger in-house capabilities in quality, product development and sales execution will be critical for emerging EV players.
Zelio is also expanding its service and after-sales teams to support its growing dealer network and customer base. This is an important area for EV manufacturers, as service confidence and local support remain key factors influencing customer adoption, especially beyond metro markets.
Coimbatore to Play a Key Role
The company’s Coimbatore facility is likely to become an important part of Zelio’s southern growth strategy. With South India being one of the more active EV adoption regions, a stronger manufacturing and operational base in Coimbatore could help the company improve regional responsiveness, dealer support and supply chain efficiency.
The planned hiring of around 100 employees at Coimbatore also suggests that Zelio is preparing the facility for a meaningful production role rather than keeping it as a limited support unit.
Management Commentary
Divyanshu Agarwal, CEO, Zelio E-Mobility, said the company’s expansion is closely linked to employment generation and local ecosystem development.
He stated that Zelio has remained a people-first company since the beginning and that the company’s focus is to create meaningful job opportunities wherever it enters.
According to him, the expansion is not only about manufacturing growth but also about building strong local ecosystems in each region where the company operates.
Strong FY2025-26 Performance
The workforce expansion follows a strong FY2025-26 for Zelio E-Mobility. The company reported revenue of ₹313.68 crore in FY26, compared with ₹172.19 crore in FY25. This translates into an 81.8 percent year-on-year increase.
The company also stated that it has remained profitable since inception and has delivered an approximate revenue CAGR of 121 percent over the last four years.
For a relatively young EV company founded in 2021, these numbers point to a rapid scale-up phase. However, the next stage of growth will likely require deeper investments in people, product reliability, dealer support and manufacturing consistency.
Post-IPO Growth Phase
Zelio E-Mobility was listed on the BSE SME platform in October 2025. The company raised ₹78.34 crore through its IPO, which included a fresh issue of ₹58.84 crore and an offer for sale of 11.4 lakh shares worth ₹15.50 crore. The issue was subscribed 1.5 times overall.
The latest workforce expansion can be seen as part of Zelio’s post-listing growth roadmap. With access to public market capital and an expanding dealer footprint, the company now appears to be strengthening the organisational structure needed to support higher volumes.
Dealer Network Expansion
Zelio currently has a dealer network of over 400 touchpoints across more than 25 states. The company aims to expand this to over 550 dealerships by FY27, with a particular focus on South India and the North-East.
This dealer expansion strategy aligns with the company’s hiring plans, especially in zonal sales and after-sales support. As EV competition intensifies, dealership productivity, service readiness and regional brand trust will become key differentiators.
Zelio’s workforce expansion signals that the company is moving from an early growth phase to a more structured scale-up phase. The plan to cross 500 employees, backed by hiring in manufacturing, R&D, quality, sales and service, suggests that Zelio is preparing for both higher production volumes and wider market coverage.
The focus on Coimbatore is particularly noteworthy, as it strengthens Zelio’s presence in South India, a region that has shown strong EV acceptance across both personal and commercial mobility categories.
While revenue growth has been impressive, the real test for Zelio will be sustaining profitability, maintaining product quality and ensuring after-sales support as its dealer network expands. For emerging EV companies, scaling quickly is only one part of the story; scaling reliably will define long-term success.
With a 400+ dealer network, a target of 550+ dealerships by FY27 and a sharper hiring push across key functions, Zelio E-Mobility is positioning itself for a more aggressive role in India’s electric mobility market.
