Honda Two-Wheeler Sales June 2026: Activa, Shine 125 & Unicorn Drive 21% Growth

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) continued its strong momentum in the domestic two-wheeler market during June 2026, dispatching 4,68,956 units, registering an impressive 20.6% year-on-year (YoY) growth over 3,88,812 units in June 2025. Sequentially, the company also recorded a 2% month-on-month (MoM) increase from 4,59,611 units in May 2026. Honda's strong performance helped it further narrow the gap with market leader Hero MotoCorp in the domestic two-wheeler market.

The month's performance was once again driven by the Activa scooter family, while commuter motorcycles such as the Shine 125 and the reintroduced CB Unicorn 150 delivered healthy volumes. However, some legacy commuter and premium models continued to struggle.

  • Honda Activa remained the company's undisputed bestseller with 2,18,932 units, contributing nearly 47% of Honda's total domestic dispatches. Although dispatches declined 4% over May, the scooter still posted a healthy 19% YoY growth, reinforcing its leadership in India's scooter market.

  • Honda also continued expanding its electric portfolio, with:

    • Activa e: 64 units

    • QC1 electric scooter: 472 units

  • Honda's commuter motorcycle lineup delivered another impressive performance. The Shine 125 remained Honda's largest motorcycle brand with 1,52,415 units, growing 13% YoY and 8% MoM. Meanwhile, the smaller Shine recorded one of the strongest growth rates in Honda's portfolio - 15,157 units with 80% YoY growth

  • Combined, the Shine family accounted for nearly 1.68 lakh motorcycles, highlighting Honda's continued strength in the 125cc commuter segment.

  • CB Unicorn 150 dispatched 37,617 units and the motorcycle recorded an 8% sequential increase.

  • Dio fell 25% YoY to 18,230 units, although it recovered sharply with a 45% MoM increase from May. The newer Dio 125 continued gaining traction with dispatches of 13,229 units and 18% MoM growth.

Auto Punditz Insights

Honda delivered another solid month in June 2026, backed by a balanced mix of scooters and commuter motorcycles. While the Activa continues to anchor the company's overall performance, the Shine 125 remains the backbone of its motorcycle business. The strong showing by the CB Unicorn 150 and continued growth of the CB350 family further strengthens Honda's presence across multiple segments.

The weak performance of legacy models such as the Livo, Hornet 2.0 and CB200X, however, suggests Honda's portfolio is becoming increasingly concentrated around a handful of high-volume nameplates. Going into the festive season, sustaining momentum in commuter motorcycles while expanding its electric scooter lineup will be key to further closing the gap with Hero MotoCorp.
