India's two-wheeler market maintained its healthy growth trajectory in June 2026, with retail registrations touching 18,28,458 units, compared to 15,08,378 units during the same month last year. According to FADA retail registration data, the industry recorded a robust 21.22% year-on-year growth, reflecting sustained consumer demand across motorcycles, scooters and electric two-wheelers.
While Hero MotoCorp retained its position as India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) continued to narrow the gap. TVS Motor Company strengthened its hold on third place, whereas Royal Enfield, Yamaha and Ather Energy emerged among the fastest-growing established brands during the month.
The June performance also highlights the growing contribution of premium motorcycles and electric mobility, even as conventional ICE manufacturers continue to dominate overall volumes.

TVS has further consolidated its position, increasing its market share to 19.65%, supported by balanced growth across scooters, commuter motorcycles and premium offerings.
Top Five Brands Continue to Dominate
The five largest manufacturers together accounted for over 86% of India's two-wheeler registrations during June 2026.
Hero MotoCorp – 4.72 lakh units
Honda – 4.53 lakh units
TVS Motor – 3.59 lakh units
Bajaj Auto – 1.88 lakh units
Suzuki Motorcycle India – 1.05 lakh units
This concentration highlights that while new EV startups are growing rapidly, traditional manufacturers continue to dominate retail registrations.
Premium Motorcycles Continue to Gain Popularity
Royal Enfield posted another impressive month by registering 94,548 units, representing 25.4% YoY growth.
The continued demand for mid-size motorcycles indicates that premiumisation remains one of the strongest themes in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Yamaha also delivered an impressive 34.8% growth, reaching 67,696 registrations, reflecting steady demand for its sporty commuter and performance-oriented portfolio.
Electric Two-Wheeler Market Sees Mixed Trends
The electric two-wheeler segment continued to witness divergent performances.
Ather Energy nearly doubled its registrations, growing 95% YoY to 31,230 units, increasing its market share to 1.71%.
Greaves Electric Mobility, River Mobility, BGauss and Classic Legends also registered exceptionally strong growth on a relatively smaller base.
However, Ola Electric remained under pressure. Registrations declined from 20,697 units last year to 16,150 units, resulting in a 22% YoY decline and market share dropping below 1%.
The figures suggest that competition in India's EV space continues to intensify, with multiple manufacturers gaining traction.

AutoPunditz Insight
June 2026 reinforces several long-term industry trends.
Hero MotoCorp remains India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer, but Honda continues to steadily close the volume gap. TVS is consistently strengthening its position through a diversified product strategy, while Royal Enfield continues to benefit from the premium motorcycle boom.
Meanwhile, the electric two-wheeler market is becoming increasingly competitive. Rather than a single dominant player, the segment is evolving into a multi-brand landscape where companies such as Ather, Greaves, River and BGauss are steadily improving their presence.
With the festive season approaching in the coming months, sustained rural demand, improving financing conditions and continued product launches are expected to keep India's two-wheeler market on a positive growth trajectory through the second half of 2026.
